The man laughed. “I’ll walk you to your truck, Miss Rose.”
“Now, that, I would appreciate.”
Tanner watched as his aunt leaned on her cane to reach her truck, then he turned to Emily.
“She’s not going to fire me,” he said.
“No, I won’t let her,” Emily said. “Besides, didn’t you say Eugenia threatened to sing to her if she fired you?”
“Yes,” he said laughing.
“No worries,” she said. “Take me home. I need you. That was too close a call.”
“Gladly,” he said. “As soon as they catch the beast and it’s safe to leave the pavilion, we’ll go back to your cabin.”
