“No,” I replied. “I’ve never . . . I mean, I don’t know what to do.”

“You’ve never been kissed before?”

I lowered my gaze and shook my head.

“That’s okay. You go with the flow. You do whatever feels right.”

“Alright.”

Logan must have sensed my hesitation, because instead of kissing me again, he took my hand and led me to where the water could wash over my toes. “Did you enjoy meeting everyone?”

“They’re all lovely,” I said with a nod of my head. “They made me feel so welcomed.”

“They’re good at that. Jackson, Mark, and I talked shop, and I got to know Liam’s pal, Quinn better.”

“I’m glad you’re making connections in your new home,” I said. I stepped farther into the water so it washed around my ankles. “You know, I wouldn’t mind seeing your new home sometime.”

“It’s nothing special. Not yet, anyway. I’ve got no furniture because I haven’t wanted to set down roots until I was sure this was the place for me. I don’t even have a real bed.”

My jaw practically hit the sand. “You don’t have a bed? Where do you sleep?”

“On a mattress in my living room. It’s fine,” Logan said, waving his hand dismissively.

“It’s not fine, Logan. How do you expect to perform to your best at your new job if you’re not getting a good night’s sleep?”

Logan chuckled. “I could sleep on a stone slab, and I have. Besides, I don’t sleep a whole lot anyway.”

I folded my arms across my chest. “Why deprive yourself when you don’t have to? Come on. I’m taking you bed shopping.”

Logan resisted when I tugged on his arm. “Why? I hate shopping.”

“Come on,” I insisted, ignoring his moaning.

He reluctantly let me drag him away.

Logan and I didn’t see each other for the next few days. He was busy with Cole Security, and I was busy hanging out with Lily and Zoey. The three of us decided we’d been doing our own thing too much and that we needed more time together. We’d gone shopping, ate lunch, and now we were having a little night-time beach party. Zoey turned up the volume on her portable speaker and we danced around our firepit and sang along to the song.

“This is the best party ever!” I said. “No sleazy blokes, no crowded dance floor. Just my friends!”

Lily wrapped her arms around me. “Who needs sleazy blokes when we’ve got each other?”

Zoey shrugged. “I mean, it would be okay if we could all sleep together, but I kinda need penis in my life.”

“Zoey!” Lily slapped our out-there friend on the arm.

“I can’t decide which I like more—pussy or penis. So sue me.” Zoey shrugged.

“All you think about is sex. Are you sure you’re not a guy?” Lily asked.

Zoey glanced down at her crotch. “Not since the last time I checked.”

“You’re not coming anywhere near my lady parts,” I told her.

“That’s okay. But I bet I know who will be.”

I blushed as Zoey winked at me. It was clear we both knew who she meant.
