A long pause passes before Sammi finally admits, “Yeah, that does sound like something I would do. Sorry, guys.”

“Let’s just get out of here,” Becky suggests, “before we find out about some other crime we committed.”

Just then, the cheering crowd erupts in even louder cheers. The Korean guy excitedly starts gesturing.

“Fuck, yeah, motherfucker!” he yells to the other people crowded around the fighters. “Rocky is the fucking champ. I told you! I told you!”

I stop dead in my tracks, listening to his voice. I’ve heard it before, here in this room.

“Something’s happening, guys,” Sammi says, pointing to me.

“Are you remembering something?” Becky asks, hopeful.
