“Of course, you're my guest, not a prisoner.”

“Great, then why not let me out now. I’ve played my part. I’ll just avoid Ragnarök for a few days.” I suggested.

“Then you wouldn’t get to see how lovely it is at Ukojenie,” he smirked.

“What does that mean?”

“Serenity in Polish.”

“Of course, it does,” I said and rolled my eyes, settling into my seat.

Chapter 22

Loki

As soon as Bones, Whiskey, and I got back from the Bayou, I called Church. We were sitting around our table as Bones recapped what we’d learned.

“Bones and Roar, get Kane involved in a search of Arkansas. Virgil said it was something like Faith or Love. Once we nail down the town, let’s cross check that with privately held land,” I said.

“We’ll need assault rifles and pistols,” Taz said.

“Boa, you can work with Taz on getting our supplies together. Whiskey, you and I will figure out our transportation. Let’s meet back here in two hours to see where we stand,” I said, and hit the gavel on the table.

Getting up from my chair, my cell phone started ringing, and Ivy’s name popped up.

Trepidation went down my spine as Ivy told me where and who she was with. Hearing that bastard's voice enraged me. The truth was Piotr, and I had been best friends since we were 7 years old, but he was crossing a big mother fucking line by getting into this with me. He knew damn well I was going to handle it. Taking Ivy was a petty thing to do.

“I swear to Christ, Piotr, if you hurt Ivy because of this shit, I’ll kill you myself. We have a tangible lead and we’re preparing to get this shit sorted out.” I seethed.

I stared at my phone after Piotr hung up. Needing a minute to calm my breathing. Rage was vibrating through my body and I shoved my phone in my back pocket and walked over to the wall and kicked, imagining it was Piotr’s face. The drywall gave way as pain shot through my foot, but I barely acknowledged it.

“Fuckin’ hell, Prez, what’s wrong?” Whiskey asked.

“Piotr took Ivy,” I turned to him, glaring. The anger was still very much a live wire in my nervous system.

“You don’t think he’ll hurt her, right?”

“Not if we get the crates back,” I said and decided I needed to channel these feelings into being productive. Whiskey had to keep up with me as I raced down the hallway.

Two hours later, my brothers and I were sitting back at the table. My nerves were raw as I watched Bones set up his laptop to project against the wall.

Before Bones started speaking, Roar said, “what the hell happened to the wall?”

“Don’t worry about it,” I barked.

My brothers all frowned at me, but I didn’t have the patience to say more.

Bones intervened because the tension in the room was rising. “We found Hope, Arkansas, which is just over a 6-hour drive from here. Kane is still searching through public records to see if he can narrow down our search, but we have 3 locations to check. I’ve also called a contact of mine in the police force to see if there’s any chatter about anti-government groups in that area.” Bones bounced a laser light to show where the search areas were.

“Does this contact have FBI ties?” I wondered aloud.

“Yes, his cousin is an FBI agent, so I think it's possible we’ll have it narrowed down before we arrive.” Bones sat back in his chair.

“We’re all set on our hardware,” Taz confirmed.

“We’ll be taking three black SUVs up there. The vehicles will be here in an hour,” Whiskey said.
