“I don’t know. Do you think Thomas could take this? Or look at it? He’s family to you. Or I could find someone else.”
“I think Thomas is perfect. His father, Tom, handled all the business for Carl Blossoms. Tom dealt with the guardianship for Poppy and Rose when they were minors to assure Lily kept the family together. Tom still practices too. One of them will take this. I’m positive.”
He let out a breath. “Okay. That’s a step. I’ll call on Monday and see if I can meet with them.”
“We can do that or I can call Rose tomorrow.”
“No,” he said. “It’s the weekend. I don’t want to bother him. We are going to see my mother tomorrow and I’ll have to tell her at some point. For now I want to put it from my head.”
“Then that is what we’ll do,” she said. She moved closer to him, put her lips on his and pulled him in for a hug. The three of them as one unit.
He couldn’t remember the last time someone hugged him for comfort.
“I love you, Zara,” he said. He couldn’t keep it bottled up anymore. Not when he thought his world might be crashing down on him again. “I know you don’t want to hear it, but it’s the truth and I need to say it.”
“I needed to hear it, Ren,” she said. “I love you too. I’m scared. You need to know that. But my reasons for that don’t change how I feel. We have to deal with this now and not my fears.”
“We have to deal with both,” he said.
“And we’ve got time. Max comes first. Agreed?”
He wanted to know what she was afraid of, but he wasn’t sure he could divide his attention right now. “Agreed.”

Emotional State Of Mind
The last thing Ren wanted to do on Valentine’s Day was spend it in a lawyer’s office.
But Thomas Klein told him he’d fit him in this afternoon and since the guy was going out of his way because he said Ren was “family” he had to show up.
He needed to get this taken care of no matter how much he was hoping to move on with his life.
The sick feeling in the pit of his stomach making him wanting to vomit fire when he read the letter from Michele Wilson two days ago was still there.
He tried to put it from his mind yesterday while he and Zara had a relaxing Sunday, but he was putting on a show and knew it.
“Ren, Thomas will see you now.”
He stood up when the receptionist came out to get him.
“Thanks, Thomas, for seeing me so soon. I appreciate it.”
“Not a problem,” Thomas said. “Aside from Zara being a client, I’m marrying into the Bloom family. Through Zara that makes you part of it too.”
“I’m not sure how many people think that.”
He hadn’t meant to say he loved Zara on Saturday, but his emotional state of mind needed every minute of support he could get.
It’d been a risk to put the words out there, but it paid off when she returned them.
Then they agreed together to not let his mother know about this. It wasn’t something he wanted to stress her out about when she had enough on her plate.
“You’d be surprised,” Thomas said. “The important people do and that is all that matters.”
“Thanks,” he said. “I’m sure you know some of the history of things?”
“What I know is from Rose and I’d rather hear it from you. Things can get lost in translation along with conversations.”
