Forever.

So, the brothers suffer the same plight around women they like.

I hid a smile.

“Hunter, this is Daisy. She is the best bartender in the Midwest, possibly the country.” Nancy grinned. “She makes the best Old-Fashioned in the word.”

Hunter smiled and nodded. “It’s nice to meet you, Daisy.”

Daisy glanced at Brielle and then back at Hunter. “It’s really nice to meet you too. Is this your wife?”

Hunter straightened. “This is Brielle.”

Nancy leaned into Daisy. “His girlfriend.”

Cash flinched, but he nodded. “My mom mentioned that you might like to work in Madison over the winter.”

Daisy nodded. “I think it would be really fun.” She turned to look at Brielle. “Are you okay? I saw you take that tumble. I have a First-Aid kit in the car.”

I turned to Cash and grinned as he grimaced and looped his fingers over mine to tug me away from the table.

We slowly walked over to the grove of apple trees near the buffet, and he pulled me into his arms. We were tucked away just enough that we had a bit of privacy.

“Did I tell you how beautiful you are today?”

I smiled, looking into his gorgeous green eyes. “A few times, but it never gets old.”

“Good.” Cash’s low, velvety growl tickled my insides as he brushed his lips against my neck.

“Oh, Cash,” I whispered. “How can you even make an apple orchard sexy?”

He brought his gaze back to mine. “It’s all you, babe.”

I smiled and shook my head, looking into his eyes. “I don’t know what I did to deserve you, but I’m forever grateful.”

Cash smiled and took my drink from me and set it on a picking ladder next to us.

“I know this might seem crazy, but I can’t wait for a second longer.”

“What are you talking about?” I cocked my head.

“I know my mom will want to do a big blowout when she finds out, but I don’t want that. I just want this,” he continued.

“Want what?”

He kissed me, and the kiss was scorching. I parted my lips, and I tasted the sweetness from the apple drink on his tongue. I let out a little moan, and he moved his fingers through my hair.

“This is what I want,” he said, breaking our kiss. “You. Right now.”

I glanced around the trees and shook my head. “Cash, I really don’t think this is a good idea. People would most definitely see. I know we’ve been pushing the limits the last few days, but...”

Cash laughed and brought his lips to mine with a brush of a kiss.

“I meant that I want to love you forever.” He smiled and reached up high on the ladder and bent down on one knee, taking my hand in his with the stuffed chipmunk in the other. “I want us to take on great adventures, plot an amazing story, and live it together. But what I know is that I don’t want to live another day without calling you mine. I want to be the one who pulls you out of the walls and picks up the luggage you trip over. Maya Bailey, will you make me the happiest man in the entire world? Will you let me be your Thor? Will you marry me?”

Never in a million years did I expect this, but it was what I wanted more than anything in the world.

My hands cupped his cheeks as I pulled him and the chipmunk up, and I kissed him all over as tears ran down my face.
