I TURNED AROUND when a soft knock and Axel’s voice filtered through the door. “Come in.” My hands were ice-cold, and my heart was in my throat. I didn’t want to ruin the evening Axel had planned, but I was freaking out over the stalker being someone I knew.
“Wow. You are exquisite.”
I placed my hand on my stomach and inhaled at the sight of Axel in a suit. “You are incredibly sexy in a suit.”
He tugged on the lapel, strutting toward me. “This old thing? Thought it time I dug it out of the back of my closet.” He stopped in front of me and raked his eyes over my body.
“Right.” I brushed my hand over his chest. “This looks new.”
“Can I kiss your red lips? Or will I mess up your perfect makeup?”
“You better kiss me. My lipstick won’t come off until I take it off.” I puckered for him.
“Advanced technology, huh?”
I laughed. “Something like that.”
Axel kissed me softly. It wasn’t nearly enough for me, but he probably didn’t want us to get worked up.
“Are you ready?”
“I’m not sure.”
“Don’t worry. I think you’ll like it. But first…” He removed a silky black cloth from his pocket. “Turn around.”
“What for?”
“So I can blindfold you.”
“I’ll just close my eyes.”
“No. You’ll let me blindfold you. It’ll add to the experience, then maybe tonight, you’ll let me put it on you again.” The corner of his lip curled.
“Okay.” The singular word left my lips in a breathy tone. I clenched my thighs, the notion making me wet and aroused.
“That’s my girl.” He cupped my elbow and turned me around.
I inhaled a deep breath again, my stomach fluttering with a billion butterflies as he covered my eyes, and everything went dark.
“Now, was that so bad?” His hands skimmed down my arms, producing goose bumps. “You smell good enough to eat.” He rubbed his nose below my earlobe, and his lips were on my neck. I felt his hot breath and tongue lightly flick my skin.
I exhaled. “Oh God, Axel.” My nipples beaded into firm, painful pebbles. We hadn’t even left my bedroom, and I wanted to rip off my dress and jump his bones.
“I’ll stop torturing you now.” He took my hand.
“But it’s the sweetest kind of torture.”
He raised my hand and pressed his lips to my knuckles. “Just wait until after dinner, my beauty.” He tucked my arm through his.
When did this man turn into a charming, seductive romantic?
Axel guided me out of my room. The anticipation was killing me with every slow step I took. I sniffed the air when something delicious tickled my nose. I couldn’t make it out, but I knew I wanted it.
My ears perked up at the sound of a saxophone playing “Havana.” How did he know I loved Kenny G? If he danced with me, I just might sob right here and now.
Oh shit, he read my mind.
