She laughed but obeyed just the same. “Really?”

“Yes, it’s a surprise.”

“Babe, I’ve seen our tree. I’m sure it looks the same as it did yesterday.”

“Humor me. I like blindfolding you.” And she enjoyed it too—especially all the naughty things I did to her while she was blindfolded.

“Okay…”

“You know I like to set the mood.” I led her out by the hand.

“I do. And I love it when you set the mood.”

“Mhm. Because your man is the best.”

“The very best.”

I positioned her just where I wanted her, then dashed off to turn on the Christmas music and lights.

“Before I remove the blindfold, I want you to know, after today, I’m ready to have a kid of our own.”

“What? I knew it! Mia stole your heart, didn’t she?”

That little girl sure did. She was the spitting image of Miranda, so sweet and she adored her uncle Axel. Being around her had made me long for a baby with Simone.

“Yes, she stole my heart. So I’m ready to try for one of our own.”

“Well, then it’s a good thing we’re getting married soon.”

I tugged her into my arms and kissed her, roaming my hands all over her back. Shoot, I was getting turned on again. I pulled back, forcing myself to stand down.

I scanned the room one more time. Paper snowflakes and fairy lights hung from the ceiling. There was even fake snow on the floor. I just hope Simone loved it because my little elf, Tessa, gave me a lot of shit for making her create all this magic on Christmas Eve after Simone had fallen asleep.

I blew out a breath. “Okay, Merry Christmas, my love.” I untied the cloth and revealed my surprise.

She squealed and threw her arms around my neck. “You turned the loft into a winter wonderland!” She bounced on her toes, pecking kisses all over my face. “I love you so damn much. You are the greatest gift I’ve ever received.”

I wrapped my arms around her waist. “And you’re the woman of my dreams and hopefully soon, the mother of my children.”

She flashed a radiant smile. “You really want a baby with me?”

“I want it all with you.” I dropped a kiss on her luscious lips.

“I’m so relieved.”

“Were you seriously worried I wouldn’t want a baby?”

“Yes.”

I reared my head back to look her in the eyes. She should know by now there wasn’t anything I wouldn’t do for her. “Why? I adore Mia.”

“Because we hadn’t agreed on having a baby, and I’m sort of pregnant.” She grimaced. “Best Christmas ever, right?” She bit her bottom lip, her brown eyes shimmering.

I threw my head back and laughed heartily.

“What’s so funny?”

“One of those boxes under the tree has one hundred dollars worth of pregnancy tests in it. Do you think I can return them since you’re already pregnant?”
