My eyes land on Bull who is sitting on the inside of the warehouse with Lily snuggled into him. He almost looks like he’s smothering her. I don’t say a word and walk past them both. Bull’s eyes are on me, piercing through my back, but I keep on walking. Slash’s footsteps are behind me. I sneak a glance and see him walk over to Bull and Lily. Step one to Bull’s grave has begun.

I can’t wait to light your ass up!

My heart is beating so loudly. I want the smell his skin burning – that’s how desperate I am to get rid of him. I barge into Slash’s room, breaking into the room and pacing around. I pack the gun he gave me a while back into its holster. I’m burning up and waiting for Slash to come in so I can find out how and when we’re going to make a move. I wash my face a couple of times to stop myself from going manic, but I can’t. I’m still burning underneath my top and there’s sweat patches which have formed under the arms. I take it off and switch into a tank top sitting on the bed to wait.

As soon as I hear the door click open, I jolt up, eyes bugged out looking at Slash. He has a big grin on his face, so I take it as a good sign. “What?”

“He went for it. Silly old fool. I can’t believe he went for it.” Slash’s face is incredulous, and I want to know what he went for.

“What did he go for? Where?” I’m trying not to hiss, but I want to know.

“I told him the Cardez Cartel wants to add another deal to the table. Boomer fell for it. I told him we got to meet after midnight out near the border. I told him he’s gotta roll alone. Nobody else but him, otherwise the deal won’t go through. It’s the derelict trap house we know about out there, just like we planned, so now we gotta get a few things in the van and get ready. I think he’s out on the bike with Lily, so he’s not gonna know when we’re packing it in. I saw him leave out.”

“We have to make sure none of the other guys see either.”

“They don’t. You gotta trust me babe.” Slash kisses my lips to pacify me, but my legs are jittery. My hands even more so. Slash’s eyes go straight to my hands, and he grabs them. “Hey, hey look at me. It’s going to be okay. We got this. I swear we do. It’s only a few hours away until the answer to both our problems is solved.”

“Nice job.” I smash Slash’s hand with a high five.

As we prepare for Bull to meet the maker Slash cleans his nine-millimeter, checks the chamber for bullets. I swim in the bulletproof vest Slash gives me, but I don’t give a shit.

I flash back to the captors who I burned remembering how I used so much kerosene I scorched my fingers. “Got gloves?”

“Yeah, check the top drawer.” I gulp down my anxiety, the awful memories of my father being killed racing through my mind. I’m justifying it all. Piecing it all together. The bubble of rage in my stomach tells me Bull’s bitch ass burning in the fiery pit of flames is the right thing to do. I pull out the gloves in the drawer stuffing them in my pocket. I face myself in the mirror studying myself. I’m the survivor. The one to make it against all odds. A dark smirk lifts on my lips. The phoenix risen from the ashes. Slash’s face curves near the base of my neck.

“Ready to do this babe? We can’t be killers on empty stomachs. Let’s order some takeaway before we go do this.”

“You’re right about that.” He slides his hands down to my pussy, the fire burning there too, but reluctantly I swipe his hands away. “Baby don’t get me started. We got a job to do.”

“Yeah, that’s another job I gotta take care of though. Victory pleasure. You’re right we can worry about that later.” He smacks me on the ass, and we move out of the bathroom.

We eat in silence knowing every step we have to take. The club members are laughing and joking like its another day, but they don’t know what’s coming. Nightfall covers the sky, and the clubhouse quietens as the Dark Angels either bail out, or retreat to their rooms. Bull doesn’t he hangs around the front waiting…

Tick tock. Time’s running. Eleven thirty hits and it’s half hour to the border. We hit the front and Bull’s wide body fills the door and all I can feel is hatred for the man that stole from me. I watch Bull pull off headed on the final road to his death.

Slash and I wait a beat. Bull doesn’t know I’m rolling with Slash, nor should he. I jump on the back of his bike, flames flowing through my veins. My pulse is ticking like a time bomb. Slash taps the side of my thigh and I lean into the man I’m willing to die for. He’s the only one. My savior, the true prez of the Dark Angels – ain’t no angels riding on this hog tonight only the motherfucking devil and his mistress. The hot taste of asphalt wafts through Slash’s tires as we ride out, straight shooter to the border. Slash pushes the limits with Bull’s back in his front view.

Nah, nah, nah. Your bitch ass is gonna die tonight. Ha!I got a little death melody in my head and the bike wind cutting through my hair. The smell of fresh soap and weed flows back to me. Slash’s scent. The road clears as we get closer to the border, the energy shifts to darkness as Slash slows down near the shambles of a traphouse down the dirt road. Ain’t no streetlights out here, only desert plains with tumble weeds and rattle snakes. Slash flashes his lights in front of the graffiti covered house with half a door. Part of it has been smashed in and it looks like the cops raided it.

Shivering, I shove my hands in my pockets walking beside Slash to the house.

“Where are they?” he asks gruffly his beady eyes staring back at ours.

Slash clicks his tongue around in his mouth. “Welp, it’s just us for now. I need you to answer a few questions, Bull.”

“I’m not answering no fucking questions! Where’s Paco. What is this shit? Why is Fiona here?”

“Shut the fuck up Bull,” I reply coldly. “Answer his questions.”

“Who the fuck are you talking to you dirty bitch?” Bull jams his finger in my face.

I rise to light him up, but Slash slings an arm out blocking me. He’s shaking his head at Bull.

“No, you’re the dirty bitch Bull. Let’s talk. When were you gonna tell me you killed Nix? Her father? Did you do that shit?” Slash asks a little too politely if you ask me. I’m dancing around on my feet – my eye darting through the cold of the night looking for cops and any other cars to thwart our plans. The coast was all clear. I dug into my pockets sliding on my gloves. Slash already his on. Bewilderment crossed his rugged face as he figured out we were going to off him.

“Are you- are you going to kill me? You think I’m going to let you do that? You got me in the Church meeting Slash, but you won’t get me again.”

Bull rolls his shoulders, getting up on his toes ready to fight, but it’s not gonna do him any good. The fire. The fire, it’s racing now. I can’t stop it. All those men. All my father endured. His sweet face. His kindness. A horror movie in my brain taking me over. I blink it away, composing myself for as long as necessary.
