I hold my hand out to her and she takes it, allowing me to help her. She’s suddenly squealing as I pick her up and take her inside. I march straight to our bedroom; this room screams comfort and elegance, much like the woman in my arms. After all, she decorated it.
Placing her on her feet, I take a minute to admire her. The long blonde curls she had earlier have fallen loose framing her face and falling over her shoulders; she’s as beautiful as ever. I grasp her jaw in my palm and stroke her cheek with my thumb, sending little jolts of electricity up my arm and straight to my already hard cock.
“Have I told you how amazing you are?” I gaze into her eyes, drowning in her stare as I wait. I don’t expect her to answer.
“Remember when we first met? You were the hottest little thing I’d ever laid eyes on. I know it took us a while to get here, but you were worth the wait. I vowed that I’d do everything I could to stay away while protecting you. I don’t know how many times my anger took control just watching you talk to another boy. It drove me to insanity; I destroyed so much and became a monster, so I wouldn’t allow myself the satisfaction of going near you in that way. You’ve changed me, Angel. I’m not the same man I used to be and that’s thanks to you. I want to show you every single day that you’re my world. Let’s get married here. Let’s set a date so you can finally become my wife.”
Tears run over Iris’ cheekbones, trickling down her jaw as she smiles so brightly at me.
“While we’re on the topic, I need to get this off my chest as well. Before we met, I was a naïve teenager, crushing over boys and not really knowing what was out there. Until you. I may have been too young for you back then, and I can understand why you stayed away but I could tell, somewhere deep down, we had—have—a special bond not many people in their lifetime get to experience. After everything that we’ve been through, all the energy and time we’ve put into our relationship, I want to say thank you. Thank you for sticking with me when I was checked out myself. Thank you for allowing me to break in your arms all while you were breaking too and thank you for loving me with so much force that I started loving myself. You, my dear husband-to-be are a gift I will forever hold close to my heart. I want all of what you just said and more.”
“I’m glad, Angel.”
“Cory,” she whispers, as she closes her lashes together and leans into my touch.
“Iris,” I retort, knowing that soon I’ll have to do something to satisfy my goddess.
