“What? I’m just being honest.” He smirked, grabbing my hand to lead me to his hotel room.

His bluntness filled me with more heat, and I felt like I could burst from how much I wanted him.

Reaching his room, Grant fumbled with the keycard in his haste to get us inside and I had a brief thought about whether it was smart to do this. That disappeared as soon as the door opened and he pulled me inside, pressing me up against the closed door.

“You really like to push me against a wall,” I commented, melding my body to his.

“If it was up to me, I’d fuck you on every damn surface in this place.”

Now there was an idea. I ran my hands under his shirt and Grant sucked on my neck, leaving a mark that I was sure I’d have to cover up in the morning. His hands grabbed my ass, his mouth meeting mine.

I clawed at his shirt, needing to take it off and feel every inch of him. Grant pulled back and allowed me to take it off. I sucked in a heady breath at the sight of him.

“Now do yours,” he gestured toward my cocktail dress.

With his hungry eyes on me, I slowly peeled away the fabric. Grant exhaled loudly at my small breasts encased in a simple, lacey bra. His warm breath caressed my bare skin, leaving goosebumps in its wake.

My breathing picked up the longer he devoured me with his eyes.

“You’re the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.” Then he ducked his head and sucked one of my nipples into his mouth through the lace.

“God,” I moaned, needing to brace myself against the door.

“That’s not my name, darling.” Grant switched to the other nipple, biting and sucking on every piece of flesh he could get his teeth on.

“Mm.” My hips lifted to meet his, desperate for some contact where I needed it the most. I was on the verge of begging him to fuck me already. Just then, Grant picked me up and walked us further into the suite, his mouth coming back up to mine.

God, this man.

Finding the bed, Grant threw me down onto it in a fit of giggles as his imposing body fell on top of me. Those giggles soon turned into moans when he crawled down my body, kissing his way down across my breasts and abdomen, until he met the edge of my lace panties.

Grant looked up at me from between my legs with those devilish eyes and the sexiest smile. As his nimble fingers worked down my legs, anticipation brewing in every nerve of my body, he said, “I’ve wondered what you taste like from the minute I sat down at the bar.”

“Oh, God. Yes, please— Ah!” I screamed out as Grant brutally licked my slit.

My core flooded just when he licked my cunt again, spreading my legs wider for better access—

I shook my head to rid myself of the memory that had haunted me since the time it happened. Finally, coming back to reality, I put the car in drive and pulled out into the oncoming traffic.

“Mama?”

Glancing at the rearview mirror at Abby, I asked, “What’s the matter, baby?”

“I don’t wanna go to the doctor,” she whined. She pouted her lip in that way that always reminded me of Grant.

My heart sank. “It’s going to be okay. You’ll see.” I gave her a quick reassuring smile before going back to concentrating on the road and on calming my nerves.

We were headed back to the hospital for a checkup, and the thought of running into Grant again nearly had me in a panic. I didn’t know what I’d done to deserve such a cruel fate.

I hadn’t expected to see him again, especially looking likethat, which I had to admit, made my underwear wet. I knew I had to watch myself with him considering he was the man that left me alone with a child… Well, not entirely, but he still left.

The hospital came into view, and I worked on calming myself down. If it were up to me, we wouldn’t step another foot within a mile radius of that place. But it was not up to me.

Fortunately. Abby’s test had come back confirming Dr. Jillian’s assessment of a severe stomach bug, but she’d asked for a follow-up consultation as the risk of Abby developing something else was high.

So there we were, and if running into the one man I could never forget was the price to pay for Abby being healthy, then so be it. It didn’t mean I was going to like it, though.

Abby babbled on about this and that, clearly feeling better, while we made our way to the waiting room. Watching her, I couldn’t help but smile at the bright life that she was.
