“Let me be clear,” he growls. “You’re never coming near Cora again. You see her on campus? Walk the other way. Hear she’s gonna be somewhere? You’d better make sure you aren’t there. She’s always deserved better than you. And you’re gonna stop being a pain in her ass by leaving her the fuck alone. Got it, buddy?”
As he stands, Matt rolls his eyes. “What are you gonna do about it? It’s not like you two can stick around for the rest of the semester.”
“You know Cora’s friends?” Wilder asks, crossing his arms.
“Of course I do.”
“Then I’m sure you’ve met Blaze and DeAndre. Probably Ryan, too.”
Matt’s face pales.
“That’s right. If they hear about you stepping out of line, they’ll come for you. And Ezra and I will too, the soonest we can. So tell me. What are you going to do?”
Matt glares at the three of us, shaking his head. “I can’t believe this.”
“What are you going to do?” Wilder asks again, his tone more forceful this time.
“Leave her alone,” Matt mutters, backing away.
“That’s right. And if you don’t, you’ll get a lot worse than that.” Wilder gestures to his face. “Now get the hell out of here. I never want to see your face again.”
We watch him retreat to his car. Once he’s gone, Wilder turns to me. “You okay, Moonflower?”
I nod. “Thank you. You . . . you didn’t have to punch him for me.”
“I certainly wasn’t about to let him insult you.”
Wilder kisses me, holding my face tenderly. Ezra keeps his arm around me, refusing to let go. I’m so wrapped up in them that for a minute, I forget they’re heading home soon.
“I don’t want you to go,” I whisper to neither of them in particular.
“We’re not,” Ezra says, nuzzling his face in my neck. “Not yet, at least.”
Relief fills me. If I don’t have to face the fact that they’re leaving, I can pretend they’re staying forever. “Kiss me,” I whisper.
He does. It starts off gently, but it grows heated within a few seconds. Ezra’s tongue slips inside my mouth, and his grip on me turns hard and demanding.
“Fuck, Moonflower. I just had you. But it wasn’t enough.” He nips at my bottom lip. “I’ll never get enough of you.”
Wilder chuckles. “I’d say we could fuck you in the woods, but it’s too damn cold out here.”
If Ezra’s expression is any indication, it physically pains him to pull away from me. But then he grabs my hand and pulls me to the car. “Then let’s get her home.”
Since we took my car, I head for the driver’s side. But Ezra grabs my keys and tosses them to Wilder before dragging me into the backseat. He has my flannel off before Wilder has even started the car.
“Ez! What are you doing?”
“Not wasting a damn second with you, that’s what.”
Ezra kisses me again, holding my head in a firm grip that I couldn’t get out of even if I wanted to. He shoves my back against the car door, pushing one of my legs off the seat to make room for himself.
“In the car?” I ask with a surprised giggle.
“I’d take you anywhere I could.” His lips finally leave mine, trailing across my jaw and then down my throat. He sucks on the base of my neck.
“That’s gonna bruise,” I say, arching into him.
He slips his hands under my shirt. “Don’t pretend you don’t like it when I mark you, Cora.”
