He nodded. "It would be a lot of work, but I think it would be worthwhile. You could work for me part-time and then do the program full-time. I'd work out the details with Travis."

"Wow, you'd do that for me?"

"Of course. I want to see you succeed. I want to see all your dreams come true."

"A lot of dreams would come true if I made a lot of money." I stared at him. "What's the salary?"

"For what?" he said.

"For both programs," I laugh.

"Well, the apprenticeship program would pay you sixty grand a year for the first year. The second year you'd probably see a bump up to a hundred. That is, of course, if you pass all the exams."

"Exams?" I swallowed hard. The amount of money sounded amazing, but I wasn't fooling myself into thinking I was going to be top of the class. "And how much does your assistant role pay?"

"A hundred and fifty thousand." He stared at me.

My jaw dropped. "A hundred and fifty thousand to be your assistant. What? That's more money than the program."

"That's because I'm an upper-level executive. Obviously, the amount would be prorated if you weren't full-time, but you'd still make a significant amount of money." He paused. "However, I would really need you to be on top of your game, Alice."

"I mean, of course," I said quickly, licking my lips. "I would do any and everything you asked me to do," I said quickly.

"Really?" He smirked. "Any and everything?"

"Whoa. Within reason, of course."

"Oh? And what reasons would you not be willing to cross?"

"What?" I said, staring at him.

He started laughing. "Sorry, that sounded better in my head than it did out loud."

"Yeah, it sure did. I mean, whatever the job took for that amount of money, I would do it."

"Have you ever seen that movieSecretary?" he asked me, a smirk on his face.

"It doesn't sound familiar. Who was in it?"

"I think Maggie Gyllenhaal," he said.

"I don't think so. That was the name of the movie?"

"I think that was the name." He nodded. "She had a very interesting relationship with her boss."

"Oh what sort of relationship did she have with him?"

"Let's just say the bending over his desk and enjoying a good spanking."

"What?" I stared at him with wide eyes.

"I'm curious if you could see yourself in that sort of situation."

"Oh my gosh, Foster. What are you trying to say?"

"What do you mean?" His lips twitched.

"Are you trying to say you want to spank me? Is that part of the job of being your assistant?" I didn't want to admit to him that that sounded absolutely amazing. Not that I wanted a hard spanking. Of course not. But a light spanking in his office bent over his desk? Who knew what that would lead to? It sounded amazing. It sounded like it would be kinky as hell, and I was certainly down for that. "I don't know if you're being facetious or what, Foster, but—”
