He sighs, "I didn't want to make you uncomfortable it's just how I was feeling."
I let out a growl, "You think I don't see you in her? I've seen you in her every day for the last six years."
His blue eyes stop at mine, and I see it. I always see it.
"I'm sorry."
I nod, "I know."
Our breath mixes, and I feel a little lightheaded. Honestly, it's like the room is spinning when I know damn well we're sitting still. He tilts his forehead against mine, and I jerk away.
I can't kiss him.
"Hanna—"
I snap back, pulling myself from his personal space, "No. We can't… I can't do this. You left Jameson, you said… well, you said that you..."
"I know what I said," he interrupts, "I said what needed to be said, but that doesn't mean I meant it. That doesn't mean I felt it."
"Why, then? Why push me away like that?"
"I thought I was doing what was best for you."
"If I had told you about Ellie that day like I'd planned, would you have still said those things?"
His face falls, "I'm so sorry, Han. I didn't know what you were going through. I don't know what I would've done."
"So when you said you didn't love me?"
"I lied."
His confession forces the two separate pieces of my heart back together.
