Page 31 of Demanding Husband

As much as she wanted to let the passion take hold of her, she couldn’t. She was too sad. Knowing that she might never see Vince again was too much for her. How could she possibly focus on anything else? The only thing she could do was continue to hold his body close to hers as he fucked her slow and steady. She grabbed Vince’s cheeks and pulled his face to hers, planting a kiss on his lips. Vince kissed her back softly, gently pushing his tongue into her mouth as his hips bucked and thrust, rocking their bodies with the movement.

“Daddy,” Claire breathed. “Oh, Daddy.”

“Baby girl,” Vince replied, his voice muffled as he nuzzled his face into the crook of her neck.

Claire kept a tight hold on him, her arms wrapped around the back of his neck, wishing that she didn’t have to let him go.

Chapter eighteen

On condition of submission

Loreleiknewitwaswrong going behind her husband’s back, but she didn’t see any other way. She had to save her marriage and the only way she could do that was by convincing Kate to let Claire stay with them.

She’d searched Kate’s home address online and found her number. Lorelei hadn’t considered the possible repercussions—she’d just texted the number, begging for a meeting. If Kate said no, there was nothing lost. But if Kate said yes … well, that was a foot in the door, a step in the right direction.

Lorelei knew she would be able to handle Vince, to show him why it was important that she did this, even if he’d explicitly told her to just leave them alone. Letting Kate take Claire to the other side of the country was just out of the question as far as Lorelei was concerned. She was going to do everything in her power to make sure it never, ever happened.

Lorelei had been waiting by her phone for hours. Luckily for her, she had the house to herself. Vince’s best friend had come back in town a couple of days ago and they were out drinking together. Dino traveled a lot for work and whenever he was back, they would go out every evening for weeks on end. Usually, it irked her, having him gone for so long, but today she didn’t mind. She had other things to attend to.

Finally, her phone lit up. Kate was calling.

“Why are you contacting me?” Kate snapped. “Leave me and daughter alone.”

“Please,” Lorelei begged. “Please, I just want a couple of minutes of your time. I just want to explain.”

“There’s nothing to explain. I saw what you freaks were doing. You knew we were coming. You couldn’t have waited to start your goddamn butt play, could you? You just wanted me to see it.”

“It’s not like that,” Lorelei said. “We weren’t expecting you so soon and we just … We got carried away.”

“Right.” Kate sighed. “And you want me to allow my daughter to live in that house? I think not.”

“Kate, please,” Lorelei felt tears spring into her eyes. “Please, just meet with me. I’ll show you that we got off on the wrong foot. Please.”

There was only silence as reply.

Lorelei glanced at her phone screen, checking that the call was still connected. It was. Clearly, she’d gotten through to Kate. Somehow she’d managed to convey how serious she was about this.

“I’ll be at your house in thirty minutes. I suppose I can give you ten minutes of my time.”

“Thank you, Kate,” Lorelei said. “I’ll see you soon.”

The wait was tense. Lorelei struggled to get her thoughts in order, making sure she knew exactly what she was going to say. Of course, she couldn’t prepare a script, because there was no doubt in her mind Kate would veer off course. But she needed to prepare something, to convey everything Claire meant to her, how important she was to their lives.

By the time Kate arrived, Lorelei was a nervous wreck. As soon as she opened the door, Kate barged inside.

“Make yourself at home.” Lorelei closed the door and followed her through the house.

Once Kate was done looking around, she slumped down onto the couch. She was a mess. It was clear that she was torn, upset. The situation was bothering her almost as much as it was bothering Lorelei and Vince. She wasn’t sure if it was disgust, or an inability to understand, but Lorelei knew she needed to get through to her.

“It’s not what you think,” Lorelei said. “At all.”

“How can you be okay with a teenager fucking your husband?” Kate posed the question with serious curiosity. “What is it? A turn-on for you?”

Lorelei straightened and looked down at the floor.

“Must be.” Kate eyed her for a long moment; something was clearly bubbling behind her eyes. “What else could it be?”

“Not everyone is cut out for this,” Lorelei explained carefully, “but it is something that makes my marriage stronger.”
