He smoothed his hand up and down my back before grabbing my ass. “I promised you the moon, and I deliver.”

“That you do.” I kissed the tip of his chin, and he smiled, pulling me closer.

“Harper,” he said in such a serious tone that it gave me pause.

“Lorenzo.”

He swatted my butt. “You know better than to call me that.”

“Mm.” I wriggled against him, the ocean crashing from across the pool and the yard beyond. “What are you going to do about it?”

“Whatever I want.” He cupped the back of my neck and pulled my face down to his in a movement that was somehow both rough and gentle. He always knew just what I needed, but part of that was because I told him what I wanted. “You’re mine now.” The words were spoken with a dark promise that made my toes curl.

“I always was.”

I no longer felt the need to run, unless it was into Enzo’s arms. And as we sealed the vow in the place where it had all begun, it felt as if the universe was smiling upon us.

“Wherever you go,” he said, then kissed me, “I will follow you.”

“Is that a threat?” I teased.

“No, uccellina.” His expression was solemn. “It’s a promise.”
