“This—” I pointed “—this is what I remind you of?” Che brutto. “Like a pig covered in moss.”

She laughed so hard she snorted, which only made me smile. All I saw was how beautiful she was. “Bellissima.”

Harper didn’t fall under my usual type, apart from the fact that she was beautiful. But it was more than her outward appearance; she intrigued me. I wasn’t used to women turning me down. And they definitely didn’t huff and roll their eyes at me like this one currently was.

She dipped her head, cheeks flushing with color. “I can’t fight you anymore.”

“Good.” I smirked when she met my gaze.

We stared at each other a moment, something unspoken—a current—passing between us. Before she could change her mind, I called down to the front desk to request a bellhop. “I promise you won’t regret it.”

“I’m not so sure about that,” she muttered.

Neither was I.
