“That sonofabitch!” Kinsen had now heard enough to convince him of Griffen’s betrayal. “He sent us along with you for protection because he knew others would try to follow you and find the mountain. A mountain that we can't even see.”

“Yeah, we may not be able to see it but everyone else can,” Jacks added. “And god only knows who Milo told about this mountain. There were rumors that he died because he owed people a lot of money.” He shook his head.

“We have to warn the MC,” Trent said. “We just can’t keep this from them in case the men Milo owes comes in looking for him here.”

Amira shook her head. “They’ll never listen to you.”

“We have to try,” Trent insisted. “We have to at least give them a head’s up.”

Amira nodded. “Well, then do it.”

Kinsen and Trent went up the stairs and called out, “Hey! Several times.

Eventually, Diesel and Luther came back downstairs to see what they wanted.

“You’ve had enough of the.... accommodations already?” Luther asked.

Kinsen shook his head. “That’s not why we called you down here.”

“Then what the hell do you want?” Diesel asked as he glared back at them all.

“Amira told us after you left the first time that she saw her father standing in the woods today,” Kinsen said, “We were told a few days ago that he died in a car accident. The funeral was a private one. So then, she left her dad’s house and we came with her here. But after she saw him this morning, we got to talking and some of us remembered he liked to gamble and he’s not a very good gambler. Just before he ‘died’ he owed some very bad people a hell of a lot of money. We just wanted to give you a head’s up that we might not be your only visitors.”

“Yeah?” Luther set his hands on his hips. “Well, that’s a fucking understatement. We now have many of you so called visitors.”

Diesel nodded. “Like it’s a got damned amusement park and that...” He motioned toward the direction of the mountain, “...is fucking Magic Mountain.”

Jacks snickered at the double meaning. “You’re a clever guy, aren’t ya?”

Luther ignored them, as he never took his gaze off of Amira. “So what does that have to do with this damned mountain? Why would your dad come here?”

“That’s our business and none of yours.” Amira crossed her arms over her chest.

“If he’s here and others are following him then it damn well is very much our business.” Luther glared at her.

“It’s a matter between me and my family,” Amira insisted.

“Well, that’s just not good enough. If anymore of your so called family shows up...” He seethed. “They may get an ass full of lead. We don’t fuck around here. This has been our home for over ten years. You all...” He pointed while spanning his finger over to her and the three men. “Do not belong here.” Luther spun around and went back up the steps.

Diesel just shook his head and followed his president.

When the door slammed shut, Amira looked over to the other cell. “At least this time, Diesel remembered to leave the light on,” she snarked.

Jacks chuckled.

Chapter Six

“We couldn’t tell them about the gold.” Kinsen shrugged. “Hell, we aren’t even sure it even exists.”

“Well, Milo thinks it does. And he is here to try and find it,” Amira stated. She walked back over the wooden bunk and sat down. She leaned her head against the wall and closed her eyes.

She had so many emotions running through her mind that she felt like she was living in a state of chaos.

Suddenly, the door opened as a hand sneaked through it and then they were plunged into darkness...someone had flipped the lights off again.

Amira almost welcomed the darkness as her mind was going crazy. She took a cleansing breath and allowed the calm to seep in. Right now, she knew she needed it. Then she slipped down to the floor and knelt on her knees. Holding her arms at her waist, she closed her eyes and finally achieved the calm she was looking for. Her mind cleared and she waited for peace to come to her but instead she heard a voice calling out to her. She tipped her head to one side and waited for the voice to say something.

The whispers she heard were more of a chant and she began to whisper the chant herself. Drawing herself into a trance, she relaxed and listened.
