My lips press against hers in a soft kiss. As soon as they meld together, I feel like I’m home. This is new to me. I’m no stranger to the female population, but when it comes to Lizzy, I could spend weeks kissing her and it wouldn’t be enough.

Her hand comes around to my back, gripping my shirt below the vest I’m wearing, and her body flushes against mine.

I angle her head, deepening the kiss as my body reacts to hers. I need more. I’m growing desperate for this woman.

Her other arm comes around me, keeping me close to her as her lips move along my cheek to my jaw, soft kisses that make my skin break out in chills. I hold back a groan and press my other hand to her lower back.

“Your mouth is torture,” I tell her.

“You’re torture,” she retorts. “We probably shouldn’t be doing this.”

“But it feels so good.”

“It does.” She moans softly, finding my lips again with her demanding mouth. She kisses me as if she’s chasing an orgasm. As much as I want to push her there, this isn’t the place for it, but I’m more determined than ever to get her alone in a private place.

This attraction is a burning sensation that sparks fire in my chest that intensifies the more I get to know her.

A loud clank scares the shit out of me, and I step back, breaking the kiss.

“What was that?” she whispers.

“My gun,” I say, cursing to myself. “I dropped it by mistake.” I bend to grab it from the floor.

Lizzy laughs as she places a hand on her chest. “It scared me.”

“There they are!” a boy says.

“Shit. We’ve been caught,” I tease her.

“Should we let them win or give them a hard time?” Her face glows in the neon green light, and I catch her arched brow.

“One of the kids called me old, so I’m taking him out.”

“Nate, he’s seven. You are old to him.” Her voice of reason is no match for my pride, though.

“Whatever, I’ve got years ahead of me and amazing stamina.” My voice drops.

“Stop it.” She shoves my shoulder and lifts her gun.

I see the kid who made fun of me and point my gun to him. His eyes widen before aiming at me. I press the trigger to take him out so he knows not to mess with old men, but my vest vibrates.

“Got you!” Walker shouts, and I’m left standing there in shock while Lizzy laughs.

“You’re supposed to be on my side, kiddo.” I can’t believe my own nephew shot me, although a part of me is proud of his aim. I didn’t even see him amongst the group of three boys who found us.

“It’s part of the game, Uncle Nate,” he shouts as he races off, likely to hide from the rest of his opponents.

Lizzy’s vest vibrates, too, and she looks at me with a shrug. Reaching for her face, I stroke her cheek and wink.

“We’re not done, but it’s time to play this game.”

“You’re on,” she smiles and races away from me, each of us with four more lives left.

After twenty more minutes of playing without more kisses, we finish the game and walk out of the arena. The boys are laughing and talking about their moves and shots while I keep my eyes on Lizzy.

She shot me once, and I can’t complain by the way she cheered and danced around right before another boy got her.

“Did you have fun?” Brooke asks.
