“Okay, you need to spill the beans on Mr. Fox. What the hell is happening between you two? Also, no judgment, the man is fine. But if something’s going on, then I won’t fuck him again. Now I feel bad, even though by the sound of it, he was thinking about you the entire time.”

I shake my head. “There’s nothing going on between us outside of the club.”

Tori frowns, not believing me.

“When I was in Ibiza, I ran into him there.”

Tori’s eyes widen as I start the story.

“My sister is best friends with his sister.”

“No shit. What a small fucking world.”

“I know, right? That was after that first night. Nothing happened between us in Ibiza. I told him if he wanted to see me again, he had to arrange it through the club, and I wasn’t willing to see him outside the club and risk losing my job.”

“No dick is worth loss of income. Not even Mr. Fox’s fine one.” Tori preaches.

I keep who my family is away from my colleagues because most of the people who work at the club do it for the money. They might look at me differently if they know I’m rich. It also slightly irks me she knows how perfect Jasper’s dick is.

“That’s how he knows your name … because of Ibiza?”

I nod my head in agreement.

“Makes sense,” she says, sipping her drink. “What are your thoughts about Mr. Fox then?”

“I have none. He’s a client, and that’s that.”

“And if you run into him again?”

“I’m going to walk the other way.”

“You think you’re going to?”

“Yes. I’ve done it many times before when I’ve run into guests.”

“You think Mr. Fox is going to let you, though?” Tori asks as she looks at me over the rim of her cocktail glass.

“Do I have fun with Mr. Fox? Yes. Is he a great lay? Yes. Outside of that, it doesn’t matter what he wants. There will never ever be anything between us,” I tell her sternly.

“I believe you. I also wouldn’t judge you if you slipped up. I know how difficult it can be when you run into someone and you connect. Then they come back again and again. You’re a human, not a robot. Shit happens, and it’s not always planned.”

“Talking from experience?”

She nods. “I found out later he had a wife and a family. I’m no homewrecker. What you do in the club is on you. Outside of the club, don’t drag me into an affair. That’s not what I’m about. He wasn’t who I thought he was.”

“I’m sorry.”

“Lesson learned. What I’m saying is just because we give our bodies freely for work doesn’t mean we have to give over our hearts too.”

“Believe me, my heart is not involved with Mr. Fox.”

She doesn’t look convinced.

“I’ve made myself a promise I wouldn’t be getting serious with anyone until I’ve left the club.”

“How long do you think that will be?”

“Once Elle’s saved up enough to fund her bakery.”
