After rolling her eyes, she went back to work. While Ranger could tat, as well as a few of the Claws, Ginger was by far the best artist they had. Hell, it was common for people to come from across the state just to have her work on them.

“She’s not wrong, though,” Ginger uttered as she went back to work. “I heard about the little things you do for her. Youaresweet. There’s nothing wrong with that.”

“I just want her to be happy and safe.”

“You’re good at that, too.” Ginger added the wordRubyin flowing script, along the edge of the hood. “I think the two of you are perfect together.”

“I happen to agree.” He was smiling when he looked over at the mirror on the wall and saw the nameBriannainked into the left side of his neck in bold black script with red stone accents.Fuck! He liked the look of it.

“You asking her to marry you? Or are you satisfied with the shifter and biker commitments?”

“I want it all,” he said. “I’ll ask soon.”

Ginger stopped working and wiped the tat clean. When she looked over at him, she said, “I’m happy for you, Rebel. Your mom would be, too.”

Feeling choked up at the memory of his mother, Rebel just nodded.

Ruby

After getting her tattoo, later that day, Ruby couldn’t wait to show Rebel. She loved it. It was the perfect design to show what their relationship began and where it was headed. It didn’t bother her nearly as much as she thought it would that she had a man’s name tattooed into her skin. To her, that just proved that her heart was all in. She hoped he liked the ink as much as she did.

With hope in her heart, she said goodbye to the girls and made her way up to their room in the apartment building on the compound, where he was waiting for her.

Stepping through the apartment door, she saw him sleeping on the bed and let out a happy sigh. He looked so peaceful. As quietly as possible, she shut the door and made her way over to the bed. She crawled onto the bed and cuddled up to his side.

After a few minutes of watching him sleep, she was startled when he said, “This feels a little weird… you watching me sleep.”

She giggled.

He opened his eyes and looked over at her. “You get it done?”

She nodded and smiled. “Wanna see?”

“Yeah.”

She sat up and turned her back to him. Carefully, she pulled her shirt off and let him see her new tattoo. On her upper back, on the left side, there was a deep red book. The cover had the Howlers logo on it, and the title wasRebel’s Fairytale.

A few moments later, she felt his lips against her spine, working their way up her back.

“You like it?” She liked the feel of his lips on her skin and hoped that was an indication of his approval.

“Yeah, Ruby, I like it.” He moved until his legs were around her hips, and he wrapped her arms around her waist. “I’m about to heal this.”

“Heal it?”

“My shifter saliva will heal it.” He kissed her skin just below the tattoo. “Then I’m going to show you just how much I like it.”

Ruby looked at him over her shoulder. Looking into his eyes as his tongue came out of his mouth and licked along her tattoo. Shivers ran through her body. It was the sexiest thing she ever saw. Her throat went dry as she watched him repeat the movement, over and over again, until he had thoroughly covered the entire tattoo.

“Get ready, Sweetie. This will not be gentle.”

Chapter thirty-four

Two days later… Ruby

Rubycalledlunchwithher family a success. Her dad and brother were insistent that she was rushing things, but they had also told her they trusted her judgment and would give Rebel a chance to prove he was everything she declared him to be. Her mother just seemed curious.

After they heard he was a biker, Ruby fully expected her dad and brother to judge him harshly without knowing anything else about him. She was happy they seemed to understand not all bikers were the same.
