She walked over and held out her hand. “Nice to meet you, Sir.”

The older man shook her hand. “You as well. Your name is Messer?”

“Stella Messer. Yes, sir.” She yanked her hand from the man’s grasp, since he didn’t seem to have the intention of letting it go anytime soon.

Commander West cleared his throat. “Stella is our most skilled Hunter, which is why we are giving her Elite Hunter status. Messer, you will from now on be referred to as Elite Messer. Your crew will be Strike Team One, once you get them trained and ready. Before that, we have a special mission for you, personally.”

“Yes,” Mr. Thompson said with a nod, “we do. We have been informed that there is a large enclave of these… these monsters in a small town a couple hours north of here. We need you to go there and gather as much information about these creatures and their habits. We have all the weapons and facilities we need, but we don’t have as much intel as we would like.”

She nodded. “Absolutely, sir. I will do my best. Do I have a departure date and time? Do I have a return date?”

Commander West crossed the room and grabbed a navy folder from his desk. He handed it to her and answered, “This mission is about information, but if you have the opportunity to eliminate any of the creatures, you are under orders to not hesitate. You will leave this evening. Elite Cox will handle your recruit’s training while you are gone. We expect daily updates. Your return date is two weeks from today.”

“Do I report directly to you, Commander West?”

He gave a nod. “Yes. However, if you need resources, there is a list of contacts in the folder for you to reach out to. Most of them are stationed here. Add them to your phone and memorize what you can.”

“Will do. Am I dismissed?”

Commander West sighed. “This isn’t the military, Messer,” He waved a hand toward her, “but yes, you are dismissed.”

She turned on her heel and left the office. As she made her way to her suite, she looked over the information she had and added the contact list to her phone.Where in the hell is Warden’s Pass, Michigan?

Bri

Spending time with Rebel and the twins was the best way to spend her evenings, Bri decided as she drove back to her townhouse. Remembering the way Ross teased Rebel and Ryker talked him up made Bri happy. They obviously loved their cousin, and Rebel made it clear he felt the same way about them.

She didn’t know a lot about the family dynamic, but from what she gathered, Rebel was giving them a stability they had never had, and if she was being honest with herself, that was probably the sexiest thing about the well-read biker. The concern for his cousins and determination to give them a safe place to be themselves was evident in his interactions with them and also in the home he provided them.

As she pulled into her driveway and pushed the button on her visor to open her garage door, Bri wondered how she would fit in their dynamic. Would the twins still be as welcoming if she were a more present figure, or would they balk at the idea of having to share Rebel’s time and space with her? It was something to keep an eye on, she decided.

After parking in her garage and getting out of the car, Bri made her way to the door that led from the garage to the kitchen. She waited there as Rebel dismounted his bike and headed for her. Once he was in the garage, she pressed the button on the wall to close the garage door and turned to use her key to unlock the kitchen door.

They had barely gotten inside before he had her pressed against the wall, face first with her palms against the surface next to her, and his hand was moving the hair away from her neck. She felt his lips and tongue there and gasped at the pleasure that shot through her.

“The things you do to me,” he whispered into her ear before he nipped at the lobe.

Bri didn’t say a word. She didn’t know what to say. She just tilted her head to the side and closed her eyes, allowing him to kiss and suck along her neck. When she felt his large hands on her hips, pulling them back against him, she let out a moan. The proof of his desire for her was obvious and pressed against her ass.

He kissed back up to her ear and ordered, “Get your biker boots, Sweetie.”

Then, he wasn’t pressed against her anymore. The sudden disconnect from his body had her feeling a strange sense of loss. It wasn’t like he was gone. He wasn’t. He was only a few feet from her, but that didn’t matter. She wanted his touch back.

As she turned to look at him, he chuckled. “I know. I want to. Isodo.“ His eyes flashed that light again as he absently scratched at the beard on his chin. “I don’t want to rush this, though. I want to do things the right way.” He huffed out a breath and smiled at her. “I’ll wait here, because if I go any further, I’ll be carrying you to your bedroom.”

Feeling sassy, Bri put her hand to her hip and replied, “Yeah… and? I’m not seeing the problem.”

A low growl came out of Rebel, and his eyes flashed again.

Giggling, Bri headed down the hall that led to her living room, putting a little extra swing in her hips. When she heard a louder growl come from Rebel, she knew he noticed.

She was quick when she went upstairs and changed into her biker boots, as Rebel called them. She couldn’t wait to take a ride with him on his bike. Seeing the Howlers on their bikes around town had always made her curious about why they loved the machines so much.

After she grabbed the important items from her purse, she slipped her debit card and her driver’s license in the back pocket of her jeans and carried her keys in her hand as she made her way back down the stairs. When she returned to Rebel’s side, he kissed her cheek and whispered in her ear, “Yeah, my Ruby looks good in any fucking thing.”

She couldn’t stop the shiver that ran through her at his words. “You… so… you like them?”

He chuckled and reached for the doorknob. Pulling the door open, he nodded and waved her through. “Yeah, I like them.”
