Page 10 of Sweet Possession
Spinning around, the lights hit my eyes, blocking people’s faces. I drop to the floor, moving my body sensually. I feel a hand grab at my ankle and freeze, only to rip myself out of the hold in the next second. I may be a stripper, but that doesn’t mean it gives these men free will to touch me.
Pushing to a stand, I smile because the song is coming to an end and role my body against the pole. Shouting breaks out over the music. I spin to see what the commotion is. My mouth drops open as my eyes widen when I find the source of the disturbance climbing onto the stage.
Asher.
Motherfucker.
He stalks towards me, not a care in the world that he is not supposed to be up here. I am just about to scream at him to go away when he drops a shoulder and throws me over it. I am too shocked to do or say anything as he strolls backstage. It’s only when he saunters through the drape like this is the most normal thing in the world that my senses kick in. I pound on his back as I shout.
“Put me down, Asher. So help me God, put me the hell down.” My words cut off when he spanks my ass. My eyes pop open, and I don’t know if I moan or yelp at the sensation that hits me deep in my sex. Humiliation slithers through me that this is turning me on. But it is. As if to prove it further, my pussy clenches as moisture seeps into my panties. My brows furrow in confusion. I liked it. I liked him spanking my ass.
“No. I will not put you down. I told you to quit, and you defied me,” he growls out.
I open my mouth to argue when Jason’s familiar voice fills the dank, dark hallway. “What the fuck do you think you’re doing? Put her down before I bury you.”
I glance around Asher’s side to find both my boss and Griff blocking the way to the changing room and all the girls peeking around the corner, watching this shit show.
I swallow. I’m going to lose my job over this. How the hell am I going to pay my bills? Eat? “Put me down, Asher,” I whisper, but he doesn’t hear me.
Asher chuckles, the sound so dark it makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck. “Bury me?” he repeats tauntingly.
“Yeah. You want a private, you pay for it like everyone else. But Crystal here is not available to you anymore. Another one of my girls will have to do,” Jason says. He’s trying to be threatening, but by the way Asher doesn’t back down, he’s failing.
“Crystalquit. Now, I’m going to tell you how this goes. You are going to move out of my way, and you are going to let me leave with her.”
Barks of laughter sound, making me grimace. What has Asher done?
“And why would I do that?” Jason sounds smug now. Amused.
Asher steps towards them. “Because if you don’t, I will have every cop in Miami raid this place within the hour.Crystal,”he enunciates my stage name, and I hate the sound of it from his mouth, “is mine. She doesn’t work here anymore.”
That pushes me into gear. “Asher, stop. Put me down.” I pound my fists on his back.
“That doesn’t sound like a girl who belongs to you.” Jason laughs.
Asher steps forward again. “Well, she does. Now get the fuck out of my way before I get this shithole shut down.”
My mouth drops open when Asher starts walking. I look up to find Jason and Griff’s eyes on me as they step to the side and allow him to pass. My boss shoots me a look that makes me cower and look away. If I wasn’t scared of him before, then I am now. I’m almost relieved that Asher is taking me out of here.
Almost.
Asher turns left into the changing room; I hear my name being murmured, but I don’t look at anyone. I’m dropped to my feet, coming face-to-face with the caveman who thinks it’s acceptable to come into my place of work and act like this. I’m about to tell him just that when he pins me with his blue eyes, daring me to say something. Daring me to challenge him.
He jerks his head. “Get your things.”
I want to argue, I really do. But instead, I follow his command. Why? I don’t know. I just do. It is not like I can stay here now anyway. I don’t know what Jason is capable of, and I don’t want to find out. Asher is the safest bet right now. Even if he is crazy.
Punching the code into the pad on my locker, I grab my duffle bag and drop it to the floor. I pull off the bands that wrap around my biceps, holding the wings in place, and remove them, followed by my stripper heels. I can feel Asher’s intense gaze on me, but I don’t look. Ignoring him, I open my bag, grab out my sweats, matching hoodie, and Converse to put them on. Pulling the hoodie over my head, I then pull my sweats and sneakers on. Straightening, I finally look at his stupid gorgeous face to find his gaze already on me. Without saying anything, he takes my duffle, then my hand and leads me outside and into the dark parking lot.
I want to ask him why he did what he did, but I keep my mouth shut as he opens the passenger door to his car, drops me in the seat, and buckles me in. He smells so good. I inhale, breathing in his masculine, sexy scent. Pulling back, he eyes me for a beat before closing the door, rounding the vehicle, and getting in the other side. It’s then I decide to lay into him.
“Why did you do that? You made me lose my job,” I spit.
He glances over at me, a look of complete calm on his face as if he didn’t just storm a stage, throw me over his shoulder, and cause a scene at my place of work.
“You quit,” is all he says as he starts the car and peels out of the lot.
