“Do you want to just ditch the party and go back to my place?”
“Nobody’s ditching anything!” Hendrix shouted before Jet could reply. We’d come to a stop, and everyone was getting out of the limo. Hendrix wrapped an arm around Jet’s neck and practically dragged him out onto the street.
I threw Donna an unimpressed look. “You couldn’t distract him with your tits for just a few minutes longer?”
She just shrugged. “Come in and have a few drinks with us before you bail to get laid.”
“Yeah, come on, Amaya. You can get dick anytime. Prom only happens once.” Mena held her hand out to me.
With a sigh and an eye roll, I let her pull me out of the car.
We went up to Nicola’s, where the party was already pumping. Every time a new group of people came through the door, everyone would cheer and hoot as if celebrating some epic win. I supposed we were. We’d survived high school—that was something to celebrate.
I had a few drinks and hung out with my friends, but once everyone was distracted, I went looking for Jet.
I found him in the far, shadowed corner of the balcony with his phone pressed to his ear. He frowned and murmured something to whoever was on the other end before noticing me meandering toward him.
He held his arm out, and I settled into his side.
“OK. I gotta go. Bye.” He hung up and planted a kiss on my forehead.
“Everything all right? Who was that?”
“Yeah ...” He looked uncertain for a second but shook it off. “Nothing that can’t wait until tomorrow. Look what I found.” He gave me a cheeky look, glanced behind us at the raging party, then pulled open a sliding door and tugged me into a dark room.
I giggled, feeling a little naughty that we’d entered a room that looked off-limits. “What is this place?” I could just make out a desk, a couch, shelves filled with books and knickknacks.
“I think it’s Nicola’s mom’s office.” Jet shrugged. “The door is locked, but they must’ve forgotten the one to the balcony.” He flicked the lock. “But that’s locked now too.”
I launched myself at him. All I’d wanted all night was to be alone with him, and now that I finally was, I wouldn’t hold back.
He grunted as I collided with his chest, but recovered quickly to wrap me in his arms. I kissed him hard, my tongue demanding that we go deeper. He obliged with enthusiasm, our mouths devouring. He’d lost his suit jacket and tie somewhere already, and I started attacking his buttons. I stepped out of my shoes and dropped my clutch as we shuffled toward the couch.
With a shove from me, Jet fell onto the cushions, and I didn’t waste any time hitching up my dress to straddle him. He was hard already, and I ground my core against his erection, finally, finallygetting the kind of attention I’d wanted all night—all week, if I was being honest.
“Fuck, I am so horny,” I groaned as I rolled my hips and rubbed against him harder.
He replied with a deep moan from the back of his throat, his mouth busy at my neck.
“Please tell me you have a condom.” My voice was breathy.
Jet lifted his hot mouth from my neck and gripped my hips. “Shit.” He sounded pained.
“Dammit, Jethro!” I slapped his shoulder ... then groped it. He was so solid and strong, and his muscles practically danced under my touch.
“I didn’t think I’d need one.”
“Neither did I.” I hadn’t been expecting to find a secret dark corner of privacy. “Stay right there. Donna and Hendrix will have some for sure. Or I’ll just raid the bathroom. I mean, it’s a party full of horny, drunk teenagers in a movie star’s penthouse—I’m sure I can find a few spare rubbers.”
I moved to stand as I spoke, but Jet grabbed my wrist. “Don’t go,” he whined.
“Jet, I may be horny and embracing all the prom night clichés, but I refuse to add teen pregnancy to the list.”
“That’s not what I meant.” He pulled me back down into his lap. “Let’s just slip out of the party. No one will notice now. You think your house is still empty?”
“Yeah, probably ...” I grinned and leaned down to kiss him again. His hands cupped my breasts, and our hips began rocking once more as we started to get carried away. But then it occurred to me that I hadn’t checked my phone in a while.
I sat up, glancing around for my clutch.
