“Who?” He asked. I’d never seen him go from not giving a fuck to murderous.

“Beniamino. I went to go make up with him like you said and he put me out of the club. His guards manhandled me and threw me onto the street.” I looked at her shoes and saw nothing wrong with them or her legs. This bitch was lying.

“I’ll fucking hurt him for touching you, Cindy.”

“I was thinking, what if you let me handle this?” She asked a little too sweetly.

“What were you thinking?”

“Revenge. He’s got that bitch at the club that he’s into. I want her to hurt the way I have.” She looked at him.

“Are you sure about this?” He asked to confirm.

“I am. I want to do this for myself.”

Were they talking about Simone?

Cecil had Cindy to sit down while he walked me to the door.

“Come up with the money, Marcus.” He closed the door in my face, leaving me to stew in all the shit I’d heard tonight. Then a solution came to me.

With Simone dead, I could collect the insurance money I’d get from it and pay Cecil off. Then the rest would be enough for me to relocate and start over. It sounded like she and Beni were going to die, anyway. If I reaped the benefits, who would really be hurt? She’s dismissed me and looked out for herself in all this. My turn was now. Maybe I could help move this along.

I knocked on the door and when Cecil answered, I didn’t give him time to close the door. “I can get her inside the club to get her revenge. Any other place and Simone will be surrounded by Beni’s people. At the club is where she’s the most vulnerable.” He opened the door wider and let me in. Taking hold of my destiny, I prepared to tell them everything that I knew if it was going to save my ass.

ChapterFourteen

BENI

Ihung up the phone from speaking to Massimo. We had an issue with the new truce that I had with Cecil. I’d found out information what was pressing. He was on his way to pick me up so I could handle it in person. When we arrived at the warehouse, he sat in a chair waiting for my arrival.

“You’ve got some nerves coming here, DeLuca.” Cecil said.

“Maybe, but I had no clue that Cindy was your sister.” I admitted, while walking toward him.

“Half-sister, but yeah. How’d you find out?” He asked.

“My guard caught her trying to sneak into my club before we opened. She wasn’t exactly stealthy.” I admitted. “After he interrogated her, we found out exactly who she was.”

“Where is she?”

“Now, she should be at home. After we found out who she was, we let her go with a warning to stay away from there and the person she was after.”

“You mean your woman?” He asked.

“I do.” He already knew.

“It doesn’t change the fact that you disrespected my family.”

“Not on purpose. I broke things off with her months ago. She showed up at the club the other night trying to push up on me. When I told her that I wasn’t interested, she spit in my face. Truthfully, she’s lucky I didn’t do more than put her out of my club. With that amount of disrespect, there’s no reason she should be breathing. Mind you, I didn’t know she was your sister.”

“She told me you slutted her out to your friends and family.” He raised his head, looking at me.

“We’re talking about Cindy, right?” I shook my head. “She’s into being with multiple men at one time. That was her thing long before I came around.”

“Are you saying that my sister is for the streets?” He stood up with a gun in his hand.

“The streets? I wouldn’t go that far. She likes to chase money and you can’t find that with an ordinary guy. She into whatever she’s into and that’s cool. It’s not my thing though. We’re not here because I slept with her. We’re here because she almost lost her life today because she’s impulsive.”
