This shit is exhausting.

The next week flies by pretty uneventfully. The girls have been busy with end of the year stuff at school, and I’ve barely seen them. Tyler has been in and out, as usual. We fly out this evening and the house is a mess of clothes and suitcases. You don’t realize how hard it is to pack for a couple of weeks in Mexico until you’re actually doing it.

“Cam! Come on. We have to get to the airport,” I yell for the third time up the stairs.

The girls have had all week to pack, and I should have known they would still be packing today. Tyler and I have already loaded everything into the truck.

“We’re coming. Sorry, it’s not as easy for women.” She huffs, lugging her first suitcase down the stairs.

“We’re staying on the beach, how many outfits do you really need?” Tyler asks, sliding up next to me.

“A lot if I’m trying to get laid, and I am,” she says, and I try to push down the vomit threatening to come up.

“Please don’t.” I put my hand up.

“Act like we’re all not trying to get laid,” she says, rolling her eyes.

“Hell yeah!” Tyler shouts, fist in the air.

“Please don’t encourage that shit,” I growl.

Tyler laughs, grabbing one of the hundreds of bags at the bottom of the stairs.

“What is she doing up there?” I ask Cam, referring to Charlie.

“She’s coming. Her stuff is already out in the truck, she’s just getting dressed.”

When did she get everything outside? Maybe she’s not quite as high maintenance as my sister is.

“I’m coming, sorry,” she says, running out of Cam’s room.

She looks like a fucking goddess, and I don’t know why that pisses me off so much.

She’s scrambling to throw her long, dark hair up in a bun. Her hands are up in her hair and it’s making her tank top ride up on her stomach.

What the fuck is wrong with me? Since when do I think my baby sister’s best friend is hot? She’s just as annoying as my sister is.

I scowl in her direction and turn around to head out the door. I hear her mutter ‘asshole’ under her breath.

“Let’s go. You guys already have us running about twenty minutes behind,” I bark, causing Cam to roll her eyes at me.

“Lighten up, asshole.”

“You’re getting on my damn nerves, Cameron,” I say, and if looks could kill, I’d be dead.

“This is going to be so much fun.” Tyler laughs.

Thankfully, I’m one of those people that can sleep through a flight, and it feels like it’s no time and we’re landing.

“I can’t wait to lay on the beach.” Cam sighs.

After we grab our bags, we head out front. My parents always send a car for us. We’ve had a beach house here in Mexico for as long as I can remember. My parents always ship us here for a couple of weeks in the summer. Sometimes they make an appearance or two, in hopes that it makes up for the fact that they’re never around any other time.

“Earth to Cole,” Cam says, waving her hand in front of my face.
