“I trust you all not to do anything to me.” I looked at Steve. “Go on. Before I chicken out.”

“Here,” Pete yelled. He stood with a woman near the door. My shoulders sagged. I didn’t have to feed Steve after all.

But I wasn’t prepared for what happened next. Steve yanked my wrist forward, as if he didn’t hear Pete.

“Steve!” Liam yelled.

Too late!

I hissed as the pain hit, but it was so brief that…Oh God...I must have imagined it. Heat spread through my veins. Starting at my wrist and expanding through my body until my pussy throbbed.

I slumped forward into Steve just as arms grabbed me from behind.

Chapter Twenty-Two

LIAM

Icaught Jayne as she slumped forward with a moan, almost pushing the knife further into Steve’s chest. Not that the fucker would have noticed. With a groan, Steve’s arm wrapped around Jayne, wanting her nearer as he sucked her wrist. Jayne’s arousal seeped out and bathed the room in a sweetness I wasn’t strong enough to fight off.

I yanked the knife out, and Steve broke away from her wrist. He groaned in pain.

“I’m going to kill you,” I seethed at Steve.

“What the—” With the woman at his side, Pete slammed the door shut behind him, as if that would give us privacy or keep anyone from hearing anything with a busted window.

What a mess.

“Why is Steve feeding from Jayne?”

“He’s not anymore.” I slammed Steve’s head against the wall when he tried to bite her neck.

“He’s…” Pete drifted off.

I gritted my teeth as Steve reached out for Jayne again. He panted, black eyes seeking her out.

“He’s delirious, too,” Pete murmured.

“Let me have Jayne.” Steve moaned.

“Liammm.” Jayne panted. Resting against my chest, she tilted her head and reached up to caress my face. Steve gripped Jayne’s waist even as I held him against the wall with one hand. Meanwhile, Jayne bent back, trying to bring her face to mine.

With a growl, I yanked her off the floor. “Get Steve to his senses, or I really will kill him! Then change your clothes. I’m sure the police will be here soon.”

As furious as I was with Steve, I was glad he was alive. A little more to the left, and Jared could have killed Steve. I arrived in time to stop the blade from going deeper. Rage had consumed me. Pete and I killed Jared and the others without giving the three vampires a chance to talk. I was tired of Marilyn’s minions coming for us. I was tired of being bound to our sire. All I wanted to do was get lost inside my feelings for Jayne. But now she was high on Steve’s bite. Just minutes earlier, as I led her inside her room, it had beenmeher arousal had spilled out for. I had come so close to having her locked in that room with me that my chest vibrated.

I’m going to fucking kill Steve, after all.

“What about Jayne?” Pete asked as I pulled her hands from my neck.

“Stop,” I said to her before scooping her up in my arms. “I’m going to lock her in her room.”

“Liam…” she whimpered. “I changed my mind. I need you for this.”

I shivered as she breathed into my ear. With clenched teeth, I carried her up one flight of stairs and down the hall where her room was. She nibbled on my ear. With a hiss, I flipped her over my shoulder instead of cradling her, then I slapped her ass.

“Don’t,” I muttered. “Angry doesn’t even describe what I am right now. YoufedSteve.”

She groaned and squeezed my ass. “I didn’t think he’d do it after Pete showed up.”
