Not arguing over the situation, I said I’d do that.

I eye-fucked Liam the rest of that night, especially from my little hidden corner on the stage. My panties were uncomfortably wet. It didn’t help he kept glancing over at me as he prowled around the stage, slinging his guitar on his back.

Oh, merciful heaven.

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on him. No more coddling. I was perfectly rested after the last time he drank from me. We needed to go for another round.

My cell phone dinged, and my stomach dipped as I read the text message.

Larissa: It’s time to meet Jayne. You’re running out of time. I won’t follow you much longer to help.

I swallowed the bile rushing up my throat and shoved my phone into my skirt pocket. If Liam’s plan didn’t work—if he couldn’t kill Marilyn with his own hands or let me close enough to do it—I would seek Larissa’s help.

“Do you guys get drunk?” I asked, as Steve chugged a glass of beer.

We were in some swanky bar.Ball caps and fangs,I thought as I glanced at the three of them. They never went incognito anywhere, but they wore hats to make it harder to be noticed.

“Yes, actually,” Steve answered, slamming his glass on the table. “It just takes a little more for alcohol to affect us. It helps if you’ve had blood on top of alcohol.”

He winked, and I rolled my eyes.

Sitting beside me, Liam rubbed his fingers up and down my back. Pete, on the other hand, was quiet as he tapped his hand on the table. Every few seconds, I’d find him watching me, and his nervous behavior would stop briefly before starting up again.

Standing suddenly, Pete blurted, “Let’s dance, Jayne.”

Liam’s fingers stopped.

“Okay,” I said.

I scooted toward Liam, waiting for him to let me out of the booth. He latched onto my side instead.

I looked over at his electrifying stare. “Let me squeeze by,” I said, understanding what his intense behavior was about—jealousy.

“Maybe I want to dance with you,” Liam replied.

Heat zinged up my legs. “After.”

With a sigh, Liam stood so I could scoot out. I made sure to rub my ass against his jeans as I walked by him.

“I want to dance.” Steve jumped up, too.

Pete took my hand and pulled me toward the dance floor. I laughed as he did a deep, cringe-inducing pelvis thrust, then twirled me around. Glad to know he was winging this because I wasn’t the best dancer.

Steve came up beside us, waving his hands in the air.

“Oh, god,” I muttered as he wiggled his hips behind me.

Pete’s smile returned, and I was happy to see it. He shook his head and laughed at Steve before wrapping one arm around my waist and pulling me in. I wrapped my arms around his neck and together we swayed to the music.

Pete leaned in and said, “I needed this. You have no idea how much.”

Pulling away, I watched his toothy grin as he looked down at our bodies.

The fun was over when Liam stepped onto the floor. My heart raced as he approached, thumping more rapidly when he suddenly used his vamp speed, so I didn’t see where he moved. I circled around, searching for him before he grabbed me from behind. No embrace felt like his—like a volcano of pleasure. Liam let Pete dance with me a little longer as he pressed himself to my back. And just like that. My body was an inferno. What was once fun suddenly became a means to get so dirty that my clit throbbed. Liam nuzzled the nape of my neck. Chills erupted on my skin.

Then Pete’s eyes blackened. He gave me a sheepish smile before putting distance between us. “I need your presence—you have no idea how much, but your smell is overwhelming my senses.”
