Albert. He was a chubby little boy who loved trucks. I hadn’t seen him since I was five. His chub had been replaced by a six-pack and a layer of sexy stubble. Anyone could have made the same mistake.

“Second cousin by marriage, so totally legal.” This only makes the three of them laugh even louder. “And you can all fuck off.”

Nate, ready to hit me with yet another zinger opens his mouth, when there’s a knock at the door startling all of us into silence. Still in his boxers and with a piece of toast hanging out of his mouth, he jumps up to answer the door. It’s Brynn who, after looking Nate up and down like he’s a piece of meat, sweeps in, perfectly put together in cashmere and linen, despite the early hour. “We need to talk.”

Kaan leans over and whispers conspiratorially. “I think the other shoe is about to drop.”

That Voodoo That I Do

UPDATE:

Rumour has it that the one-time bassist of Seven of Crows, disgraced rockstar, Kaan, may have fled the scene before the police arrived last night. Did he have a moment of clarity and realise that getting caught up in yet another scandal wasn’t worth it? Or did he simply leave Blair Roberts to face the music alone? We can only speculate at this point.

All we know for sure is that Kaan is keeping a low profile, and his whereabouts are currently unknown. But I’m betting that it’s only a matter of time before he resurfaces and finds himself in another scandalous situation.

Stay tuned, folks!

I’m Pippa Ellis, and this is Fame and No-sense.

Brynn smiles absently at Courtney and Nate as her gaze sweeps the room finally coming to rest on Kaan. “People love Blair Roberts. She really can do no wrong in the eye of the public and she is blaming this whole mess on you.”

“Me? I wasn’t even there!”

“You are really copping a lot of hate, Kaan, and the world is quick to cancel these days, just look at your Twitter feed if you need proof.”

He sighs wearily. “I don’t particularly care what people think of me.”

“And that right there is one of your biggest problems. You’re disinterest in how you are perceived is going to destroy your career.”

“I don’t give a shit about my career.”

Kaan is holding his head in his hands, the coffee clearly hasn’t helped to clear his head. I turn to Brynn. “What can we do to get this back on track?”

“Now we deflect the attention away from Kaan’s involvement with Blair.”

“How?”

“With a different story.”

“Which is?”

“Kaan and Blair have actually broken up.”

“And her meltdown?”

“Was a result of Kaan telling her that he had met someone else.”

“You really are the mistress of manipulation, Brynn Hayes!” I tap my chin for a moment. “Hold on, who’s the someone else?”

The look on Brynn’s face speaks volumes and I already know the answer before she opens her mouth. “I was thinking… you.”

Kaan stands up abruptly. “Brynn, can I speak to you alone for a moment?”

“Of course.” Brynn smiles at her client before turning to Courtney, Nate, and I. “Would you mind?”
