We laughed more. “Seriously, though, Jess. I’m glad I stayed on your mind. I just hope what I had to say earlier didn’t change the way you feel about me. I know you’re stable financially and probably want a man that’s stable as well. I’m obviously not quite there yet, although I thought I was, but I plan to figure it out soon, even if that means I have to start over.”

“Brix, I know you, and I thought you knew me. I’m not that superficial. I know you ain’t tryna stick me for my paper. I’m not worried about your financial status. Any of us could go from stable to struggling at any minute. What matters is how we handle the transition of that. You aren’t the type to fold, so I know you will find a way out. I know your grandparents’ property means a lot to you, because you wouldn’t be here if it didn’t.”

I nodded repeatedly as my mind raced, still trying to figure out what to do, even during conversation with her. I lowered my head for a moment then took a sip of my drink. Jess stretched her hand across the table, so I grabbed it. “I got’chu, Brix. Although we aren’t in a committed relationship, I care about you a lot… always have.”

As I stared at her, I could see the sincerity in her eyes. I couldn’t help but feel a way, knowing that she still had feelings for Nate. “Are you going to see him again?”

“Huh?”

“Are you going to see Nate again?”

She looked away for a moment. “I don’t know.”

I nodded again as I pulled my hand from hers. I was doing my best to be patient, but when we slept together, it put my body in overdrive. I wanted her so bad. She’d taken a hold of my heart and my balls and wouldn’t let go. “Brix… please understand.”

“I do. You were talking to him first. I’m just hoping that you’ll feel for me how I feel for you.”

“I feel strongly for you. I’m just…”

Before she could continue, the waiter appeared with our food. Once he left, she didn’t continue. We ate in silence, stealing glances at one another. However, she didn’t have to verbalize what the issue was. I already knew. She was afraid of jumping in too quickly. After the heartbreak she’d just endured and was still having to relive every time he popped up, she was gun shy. She’d trusted him, even after her issue with men because of her father, and he hurt her. Now she was taking that shit out on me.

When the waiter came to check on us, I asked for a box. She grabbed his attention before he left and said, “Two please.”

I placed my hands palms up on the table, and she put hers in them. “I don’t want to think about that right now. I just want to concentrate on how beautiful you are and how grateful I am to be spending time with you. When you go to be with your people, can you come back to me when y’all are done for the night?”

“That’s possible. Or you can try to convince me to stay with you.”

My eyebrows lifted as she stared at me. I could tell she was feeling emotional and needed me to just love on her. She had no clue just how much I cut for her… just how much I loved her. When the waiter came with our boxes and handed me the check, I reached in my pocket and handed him my card before he could walk away.

The moment he left, Jess said, “I thought I asked to take you out.”

“You did, but I wanted to take you out too. Dinner ain’t gon’ break me, Jess.”

She rolled her eyes. “I didn’t say it would. I asked you to dinner before I knew about your dilemma, jackass.”

I chuckled. “You right. You did, but I got it, baby. What you got for me is better than money though. You know how much it costs to trace your roots? And here you finna swallow all my DNA for a meal at Pappadeaux’s. That’s a deal I can’t pass up.”

Her face turned red, and she laughed so loudly she had to immediately cover her mouth with her hands. She swatted my hand and said as she looked around, “You make me sick!”

I laughed until my eyes watered. Our moments like this were plentiful back in high school, and I was glad we could still have them twelve years later. We’d definitely gotten attention from her outburst, but no one seemed to even care. Once the waiter came back with my card and we’d boxed our food, I helped her from her seat and led her back to the truck.

Before I could open the door for her, she grabbed my shirt and pulled me to her. She turned and rested her back against the truck as I pressed against her. Our lips were almost touching, but neither of us made a move to kiss. We just stood there staring at one another. I licked my lips and touched her bottom lip with my tongue. The heels she wore made us the same height, so her lips were right there, begging me to suck the fuck out of them then have them wrapped around something thick and chocolatey.

She slid her hands down my chest until she reached the waistband of my pants. “Unlock the doors, Brix.”

I did as she requested but didn’t make a move to free her from her position against my truck. Had it been dark outside, I would have had her hike this dress up and finger fucked her right here. I backed away from her, being sure to rub my hard dick against her. My pants were too tight for this shit.

I was happy as hell that I’d gotten my windshield tinted because I was anticipating the action she promised me like a mug. I opened her door and helped her inside then walked around and got inside to find her in my fucking seats without underwear. Her dress was around her waist. “Jess, where the fuck yo’ drawz at?”

“The same place I left my morals and good sense… at home.”

I bit my bottom lip as I unbuckled my belt, unfastened my pants, and pulled my dick from my boxer briefs. “Bring yo’ nasty ass over here.”

She did as I said and immediately deep throated my shit, not even taking time to get her mouth wet. That shit was already dripping wet like she’d seen a juicy ass pickle that made her mouth water. I grabbed her ponytail as I reclined my seat some, pulling her off my dick. She spit all the saliva in her mouth on my dick and that nigga looked like he was in a damn bubble bath. “Jess, you a nasty muthafucka. Damn.”

I kissed her lips, sliding my tongue in her mouth. The way her saliva was on ten, caused mine to be the same. While I thought spitting in each other’s mouths was nasty, I enjoyed this shit. It was different. She wasn’t just hocking that shit, it was just flowing from her mouth, as was mine, leaking down our chins. I released her ponytail, and she went back to my dick. I couldn’t help but to slap her ass. It was in the air, jiggling as she bobbed on my dick.

I slid two of my fingers inside of her and began stroking her like my fingers could get a nut. Feeling her juices leak down my hand while her saliva was leaking down my dick was the truth. Nobody could tell me that my fingers weren’t about to nut right now. “Ahh, fuck! Jess! How the fuck you gon’ give me all this shit without giving me your heart, baby? That’s okay though. I’ll wait for it. It’s gon’ be mine.”
