“I didn’t mean that...” Her features scrunch again, but there’s humor dancing in her eyes. “I want to know what he did when you showed up at the bar with Niall.”

There’s a flutter in my stomach as I think about Elias, all possessive and aggressive in the middle of the bar. “Oh, he acted like a total caveman. For a minute there, I thought he was going to throw me over his shoulder and everything.” My body heats at the thought, and I take a greedy sip of my water before continuing. “We weren’t even there for five minutes before he came storming over to us.”

“No shit?” She scoots to the end of her seat, her eyes going wide. “Then what happened?”

“He kissed me senseless.” My lips tingle at the memory of that kiss, his fiery passion melting me into submission. “Then he looked at Niall and told him to get lost before dragging me back to his office and bending me over his desk.”

She nearly chokes on her sandwich, her head shaking as she takes a big gulp of her Dr. Pepper to wash it down. “I did not need to know that part,” she rasps.

“Then I guess you don’t want to hear about how we ended up back at my place, or how he spent the rest of the night coaxing orgasms out of me like it was his goddamn job.”

“Soul cleansing orgasms,” she teases. “Praise the Lord. It’s a miracle. Parker Sawyer has been saved by the power of good dick.”

“Amen!” I shout with my hands lifted in praise, and we both let out cackling laughter. “No...” I say, working to calm my laughter. “Seriously, though... I don’t think you understand. This man made me come six times.”

“Six times?” she echoes, her mouth hanging open. “Let’s not tell August about that. Death by orgasm only sounds fun in theory.”

August was the first man Josie slept with when she split with her husband. After years of unsatisfying sex with Tommy, the much younger forbidden boy toy rocked her world. That boy had her so dicknotized that she went and fell in love with him.

But Elias Jackson is on a whole other level.

I snicker. “You don’t even know the half of it. Elias did things to me that—”

“Nope! I don’t want to know,” she rushes out, her head shaking.

“Party pooper,” I whine, tossing one of my Goldfish.

She chuckles, batting away the cracker before it hits her. “It sounds to me like maybe you’ve finally met your match.”

I groan, throwing my head back. “Christ. Don’t start with me.”

She waits until I meet her stare again, shrugging innocently. “What? You aren’t seriously telling me that after all that, you don’t want to see him again?”

“That’s exactly what I’m saying,” I huff. “Yes, the man’s cock is a fucking masterpiece. And don’t even get me started on the things his tongue and hands did to me. But that doesn’t mean I’m going to be writing his name with hearts around it all over my notebook. It was just sex.”

Her sigh is heavy with defeat. “And what does Elias have to say about that?”

Oh, Peach... That was just a preview. I’m far from done with you.

My chest tightens as his words echo in my mind, the memory of his touch warming my skin. He made it very clear this morning that he has no plans to walk away. And I didn’t exactly fight him on it, either. I couldn’t. Not when every part of me was already aching for more.

“It doesn’t matter what,” I answer, brushing off her question. “I had my fun and now it’s done.”

My words don’t even sound convincing to me. I’m so screwed.

She tries to hide a smile with a press of her lips, her eyes falling to her lunch. “I don’t know. I’m not so sure he’s going to be so easy for you to shake.”

Fuck me.I hate it when she’s right.

Elias

My jaw ticksas Parker’s voicemail picks up, my grip tightening on the phone when her sultry voice flows through the receiver.

Hey, it’s Parker. I’m busy right now. Don’t bother leaving a message, I never listen to them.

I hang up as the line beeps, torn between laughing and throwing my phone across the room. I’ve been trying to call her for days, and she’s sent me to her voicemail every single time. When I left her apartment Wednesday morning, I felt pretty confident we were past this shit. But I still can’t say I’m all that surprised. The brat is as stubborn as they come.

“Daddy, I’m home!” Grace calls as she walks in the front door.
