Scarlett was a few years younger than Sid, with a healed scar on her cheek. The female had been nearly done with her doctor's training when she'd refused to follow the former Skyhunter leader's order to use imprisoned clan members as test subjects. While Sid knew the female had paid the price herself by being tossed into a jail cell, she didn't know the details about what other horrors she must've endured. However, Sid was immensely glad Scarlett hadn't lost her love of medicine and had finished her training recently.

The Skyhunter doctor nodded. "No worries, I'll send it to everyone, and I hope it's just the beginning. You see, I found the journal in a secret alcove, and I'm trying to see if there are any more hidden caches around the clan. If I find more information, I'll let you know."

Maelon from Snowridge spoke up. "Dr. Hughes is still testing things in his retirement. If I can share the details of this human female patient with him, it might help."

Dr. Hughes had shared a little-known remedy in the past to help some drugged dragon-shifters, and Sid trusted him. She said, "Sure. I do wish he could've come too."

Maelon smiled. "He says he's too old to fly for so long. But he'll be willing to help."

Cahir from Northcastle spoke next. "Whilst my speciality isn't gynecology, I have experience with kidney disease and failure. I noticed her levels are high, so if I can take a vial of Jane's blood back with me, I can try a few things to see if it helps bring them down."

Sid nodded, and Ronan from Glenlough immediately chimed in next. "And whilst her glucose levels are fine for now, they should be monitored closely. If her pancreas starts failing, I might be able to help there."

As Sid looked at each of the doctors in the room, a mixture of pride and accomplishment rushed through her. She'd worked so bloody hard to achieve exactly this—a meeting of dragon doctors from different clans, who could all contribute something different to give a patient their best chance.

She wished Gregor was here too, to share this moment.

Her dragon spoke up.We have all week to share these meetings with him. But it doesn't matter—he's already told us how proud he is of us.

It was true. Sid could never have found a better, supportive mate than Gregor Innes.

Not wanting emotion to tumble out, she cleared her throat, took a few deep breaths, and said to the room, "Thank you, everyone. The fact you want to help one of my clan members means the world to me."

Layla from Lochguard smiled at her. "Aye, of course, Sid. I know you'd do the same for us, if we asked."

Sid nodded. "Any time."

As they finished up details concerning Jane's case, they moved on to other business. And by the end of the meeting, Sid still had trouble believing it wasn't all a dream. When she'd been a new doctor, she never could've imagined so many doctors sharing their thoughts and ideas. For decades—probably longer—each clan had viewed their medical knowledge as a secret to keep from other clans. It'd never made sense to her, though. Human doctors shared information, released research papers, and even had conferences.

While she hadn't quite reached that level yet, this meeting of UK and Irish doctors was just the beginning. One day she would have a much wider net, with as much cooperation as the humans did.

Her dragon spoke up.We'll do it. But make sure to have time for Gregor and Wyatt.

I know, dragon. Besides, Gregor would never let me work as much as I had before mating him, when work was the only thing to keep me going.

Good thing too. Now, let's find him.

Knowing her beast, she replied,None ofthatuntil later.

Her beast sniffed. We can kiss our mate, surely.

But where?

Her dragon laughed. His cock, to start.

Sid battled a smile, but couldn't scold her dragon. After all, she wanted to celebrate with Gregor. Not only because of the success of the meeting, but also because he hadn't blinked an eye when she'd asked him to keep an eye on the patients instead of attending.

She had the handsomest, cleverest, most supportive mate a female could ask for.

She replied to her dragon,Maybe we'll kiss him after all.

Starting with his cock?

We'll see, dragon, we'll see.

Once she reached home and discovered that Wyatt was with Harris, Sid kissed her mate. First on the mouth, and then every last inch she could.
