“I was braced for it, as you know. They only have three days left, and it was a volunteer position. I will just stay home and work tomorrow.” She smiled weakly. “I should get out of here before I get the seats wet.”

Kasim grinned, and Clark shuddered.

She scooted toward the door, and Clark remained firmly in the space while her knees were on either side of him. He sighed and stepped back.

She got to her feet, and Kasim helped to steady her. He sighed. “I suppose that we should have found a neutral location.”

“Best laid plans.”

Kasim pulled her against him and gasped.

She paused. “Did I have a thumbtack sticking out? That happens sometimes.”

He smiled and shook his head. “I was told of your figure, but your dress conceals a lot.”

“Well, as you can guess, contact with me is rather painful. So, baggy is better.”

He ran a hand down her back and grinned. “Walter is going to lose his mind.”

Clark blinked. “You are thinking of adding him?”

“Well, he is nice and stable for her.” He grinned. “He also likes someone he can get a grip on.”

She blushed in embarrassment. “Right. Well, I am going to go.”

Kasim leaned down and kissed her. Ula blinked and then closed her eyes as his warm, spicy scent wrapped around her. She returned the kiss and cuddled against him as he took his time and held her head with a fistful of her hair.

When he lifted his head, he smiled. “Sweet bunny.”

She groaned and thudded her head onto his chest.

“Are there any bunnies in your family?”

She looked up at him. “No. All betas. They have had trouble dealing with this... uh... situation.” She looked from him to Clark. “Things are about to get a lot harder to deal with.”

Her phone chimed three times in a row. She brought it up and looked at it. The grin boiled up, and she chuckled.

Clark asked, “Someone you know?”

“Yeah. My roommate is back in town. She’s making dinner.” She checked the next text and started to hop up and down. “And dessert.”

Kasim snorted then chuckled. “She’s hopping.”

Ula paused and sighed, holding back her excited movements. “Shut up.”

“How long have you known your roommate?” Clark asked her.

“Since the last year of high school. We both have the same issue, but we are very different people.” She smiled. “But we compliment each other. She cooks; I eat.”

Clark cocked his head. “We will need to meet her.”

Kasim nodded. “She will need to find a new roommate.”

“What? No. I am staying with her.” Ula scowled. “Merry and I are buds.”

Clark stared at her. “You realize that if we join in a den, you will be living with us.”

Ula grimaced. “I haven’t thought this through. Is there a guesthouse for her?”
