Because they were connected, it didn’t take long. Merry was working in tandem as MATE did its thing.
“I have it. It’s an address tied to Kurt Purcell.”
Maura needed to know who that is.
“Give me the details,” she said.
Merry did.
“Here’s a fun little fact. Now we know why the parole officer didn’t call out the Marshalls to find the two men on parole who hadn’t checked in. It’s the same man.”
Oh, someone thought he was sneaky?
Well, he was busted.
“So we have the next location?” Dakota asked.
Maura wasn’t so sure.
“We need to be careful,” she admitted. “Artemis might have let this address slip. She could be using us to take out loose ends that connect her to this.”
Damn.
She was right.
“Copy, Major. We’ll proceed with caution,” Mamba stated.
“What else do you know?” Adder questioned. “Speak now or forever hold your peace.”
Shila kept talking.
“I know that my man was working with the other two guys. I heard them on the phone about a week ago. They were talking about taking some people.”
Her man was staring at her angrily.
Oops.
“And?” Adder asked.
“They are supposed to be moving on two more people soon. I don’t know who or where, but it’s going to go down.”
Milo was bouncing in his chair, trying to get Shila to shut up.
Well, now they had more.
Artemis wasn’t done.
They heard Maura’s voice.
“We know who was tied to that case. Merry, is there anyone who might be a target?” she asked.
Merry was running Alexsandr’s mother’s death.
“There’s a judge, but he died three years ago. I don’t think there’s anyone else.”
Then, everyone looked at them.
“Yeah, there is. Us. We could be next,” Jagger stated. “We might be that couple.”
