And she didn’t mind.

“As soon as I figure out what to do with you, Calyx, we’ll find an answer, but until then, consider yourself taken. If I were you, I wouldn’t flirt with the other men. I’ll kill if need be. I’ll kill to keep you.”

She.

Got.

Wet.

“Remmy,” she whispered.

When his hand locked onto her hip, and she was jerked into the side of him, he warned her.

“Do you understand?” he asked.

Slowly, she nodded.

“Answer me, Calyx. Do you understand what I’m saying to you?” he questioned again, noticing the bite mark on her neck and that made him happy.

He was clearly out of his mind.

“I understand, Remmy.”

He pulled her even closer, and sealed his mouth to hers, not caring that they were in a public place.

When she whimpered in pleasure, he slowly set her mouth free.

In that moment, he knew one thing.

He’d not watched his wife, but he’d sure as hell take care of Calyx, even if it killed him.

As he stared into her eyes, they were hazed with pleasure, and he loved it.

Remington felt alive.

She’d chased him, but now, she was the prey. The game had changed.

“Then, we’re clear, Calyx,” he said, not able to fight that need to have her.

Remmy knew she was better off without him, but here he was…

Crazy about her.

And worried for her safety.

“Now, go back to work,” he said, enjoying her body and the scent of her.

When she got up, he slapped her on the ass, and grinned.

“Remington!” she said, keeping her voice low.

“Sorry, I lost my head,” he admitted, amusement in his voice.

Oh, he was entertained, was he?

Standing, she leaned down and found his mouth with hers. The kiss was a hot tangle of tongues, and she knew he wasn’t amused anymore.

He was aroused.
