“All guns blazing,” I growl.
13 – YESENIA
What the hell do Isay to this? Where is he flying me to?
I don’t say a word as we board the private jet. The interior is sleek and polished, all leather and steel. Raw and hard, just like the man that I accompany. Even the marble floors are gleaming.
Three sitting areas have two-by-two seats with a steel table in front of them. Along the left side of the jet is a long couch that looks extremely comfortable. Two large screen TVs are mounted at either end of our area.
“Good evening, Mr. Maxwell,” a flight attendant says in greeting.
“Good evening, Marilynn. This is Yesenia Carver, and she will be my guest this evening,” he says by way of introduction.
I can’t help but wonder how many other women he’s introduced on this plane to Marilynn.
“Yes, sir, Mr. Maxwell. Ms. Carver, a pleasure to meet you.”
“Thank you, Marilynn. My pleasure, as well,” I reply with a warm smile.
She’s hot, but I can tell by the ring on her finger and the professional way she conducts herself that she’s not interested in Cade, which puts me at ease.
“What may I start you off with to drink?”
“Nineteen-ninety-seven Amarone,” he says.
When she disappears, I turn to him and say, “You know this could be considered kidnapping, don’t you?”
He smirks and says, “It’s hardly kidnapping when you’re a grown woman.”
I roll my eyes and say, “Fine. Abduction.”
Turning his lips down, he replies, “You willingly got into the car with me. I can name at least three witnesses on your street who saw you enter my car.”
“But not this plane,” I hiss.
“Yeah, you did. There are cameras everywhere, my love. Those cameras will prove that you held my hand and walked to the plane with me. There wasn’t a gun pointed at you. We weren’t close enough that someone could say there was a hidden gun or weapon. If I’m not mistaken, there might have even been a smile on your face at some point,” he says. “Maybe that smile stemmed from thoughts of me fucking you so hard that you forget your name.”
