Page 78 of Saving Her Vampire
“Do you understand?” I ask, my control over him never wavering.
“I understand,” Brandon says robotically.
“You will watch what I do to Sammy, knowing that it will happen to you if you break any of my rules.”
“Yes.”
I reinforce my influence before breaking contact and stepping back. “Watch.”
“That was fantastic,” River says, munching on his popcorn.
“So, you didn’t touch her sexually, but you tied her up, hit her, and shot her,” I say, returning to my mission. I pull out the gun I had tucked under my shirt. “I don’t use guns a lot.” I tilt it from side to side and then point it at Sammy. “I prefer a hammer, which we’ll get to later, but using this on you will be poetic.” I don’t wait for a response, shooting him in the leg, just as he did to Marie. The guys curse and Sammy cries out in pain.
“Fuck, warn a shifter,” River shouts, covering his ears.
“Jesus.” Bishop glares at me.
“Shit, sorry,” I apologize. “But what did you think I was going to do?”
“Please, don’t hurt me,” Sammy begs.
“Of course, I’m going to.” I frown. “You hurt my mate.”
“I didn’t want to.”
“Right,” I say. “Maybe I should wait for my mate to wake. She might have some ideas for you.”
“No, please,” he says, shaking.
“A newly turned vampire is unpredictable. You could be my gift to her.” I grin. His fear is real. He doesn’t fear me but my Marie.
“Just kill me quickly.”
“That’s interesting,” River says.
“Different approach,” Bishop contributes.
I close my eyes and call for my demon to come out and play. The room fills with power. I do my best to shield Bishop and River from it, but I didn’t do that well, judging from the cursing. I open my black-filled eyes to see Sammy’s mouth hanging open on a silent scream. His body is tense, his arms straining as he tries to move his body away from me.
“Do you feel the pressure?” I ask gleefully. “It makes you want to scream, doesn’t it?”
“Fuck, Bash,” River barks.
I release the pressure. “Sorry, I tried to shield you.”
“That was wicked,” Bishop says. “I didn’t know the scope of your powers.”
“Mine is nothing compared to Ryker,” I say.
“No shit?” Bishop says, respect shining in his eyes.
“You are a monster.” Sammy winces and closes his eyes from the pain.
“That’s where you are wrong. I don’t hurt innocent people.” Anymore, at least. “You are the worse kind of human.”
“Marie is going to regret being with you.”
“Maybe, but I will never force her to do what I want. She has a choice to be with me.” I go to the table that has my tools on it. I’m always prepared. I pick up a long knife with a jagged edge. “You left my mate’s wrists raw and bleeding. I don’t want to spend the time replicating how you did it, so this will have to do.” He thrashes as I reach up for his wrists, sawing; his screams echo around us. I quickly move to his ankles to repeat the process.
