“Ghost filled us in.”

“He shouldn’t have. We don’t know if it’s true or not.”

“Oh, it’s true Mr. Shadow. I just gave Mr. Kansas all the information.”

“Boy, why are you here?” I asked, looking at the kid, who was quickly turning into a grown man. Sypher had changed since he left for college. No longer the gangly goth kid who wore all black and had those God-awful blood red contacts in his eyes.

Now, a young man stood before me.

“Summer break,” he said, extending his hand towards me. I looked at it, grabbed it, then pulled him into a hug. “You look good, kid.”

Sypher smiled brightly as I released him. Turning, I spotted my woman smiling. Reaching for her hand, I said, “Assholes, this is my woman, Joan Trinity. Joan, this is Digger, the best demolitions man around, his brother Slaughter and the kid is Sypher. You ever need information, he’s the one to ask. And that mute dick over there is Sandman.”

Sandman just nodded as my niece Sarah patted his cheek.

“Yo! If you ladies are finished gossiping, Kansas wants you all in church!” Trigger shouted from the doorway.

“It’s wonderful to meet you all,” Joan smiled happily.

“Uh, Ms. Trinity,” Sypher whispered, looking at his feet.

“Yes,Sypher.”

Sypher looked up at me before handing Joan an envelope.

“What is this?” Joan asked, taking it and opening it.

“You don’t have to worry about your dad anymore.” Sypher said cryptically. “I found him for you.”

Looking at the papers Joan had in her hand, she gasped, her hand quickly covering her mouth before looking up at me. Taking the papers, I skimmed the contents before hugging Sypher again. “Thank you for this.”

“No problem, Mr. Shadow.”

Her father was dead.

Joan’s tormentor was finally dead. Killed by a father who caught the son of a bitch near his daughter in a grocery store bathroom in Rapid City, South Dakota. According to the police report, the father and daughter were shopping for groceries when his daughter needed to use the facilities. The grocery store had a gender-neutral bathroom allowing anyone to enter. When the father heard his daughter cry out, the father entered the bathroom and found James Malachi Trinity grabbing his daughter, trying to pull her into the bathroom stall. The father beat James Malachi Trinity to death with his bare hands.

The father in question was none other than a patched brother in the Rage M.C.

“Holy shit,” I chuckled. “Heard about that club. That M.C. is no joke. Fucker was dead before he even hit the floor.”

“I know,” Sypher chuckled. “Been keeping tabs on them. They’ve got trouble coming.”

I shook my head. “You keep snooping and one of these days, someone is going to hand you your ass.”

“Gotta find me first.” Sypher grinned.

“Thank you for this, Sypher,” Joan whispered, before hugging the kid, making him blush.

“He meant NOW, ASSHOLES!” Trigger roared once more from the clubhouse door.

Rolling my eyes, I took Joan’s hand and headed inside.

After leaving her to Kali, Vivi and my sisters, I followed my former club brothers into church to find Kansas standing next to Balthazar talking quietly. Walking over to them, my brother grinned before giving me a big hug. “You look good Zeke.”

“I feel good.”

“Everyone, just find a seat. We don’t stand on ceremony in this clubhouse,” Kansas said, taking a seat at the head of the table.
