“Is that James St. Paul?” she asks, pointing out the actor who plays Parker through the glass. “He’s on my pass list.” She reaches her hands down the top of her dress and pulls each boob up so they sit even higher.

I snort at her antics as Alec and Parker avert their eyes.

“I’m pretty sure he’s in a relationship,” Alec says, looking up at the sky.

“I’m going to flirt with him. I’ll see you later.” She starts to walk away but pauses. “And Charles? Proud of you.” She flicks away a fake tear before turning to go talk to St. Paul.

With a singular purpose, she walks straight up to him. I watch as she throws her head back and laughs at something he says, and J.D. shakes his head.

“She’s incredibly proud of you,” he says as we all watch her. “She’ll never admit it if you ask her, but she tells anyone she can about your book. She carries copies of it in her car and will give it to anyone who is even slightly interested. She is your biggest fan.”

“Likewise.” I smile up at him. “I’m glad you guys could come.”

“A rabid gorilla couldn’thave kept us from this mansion tonight. Now, I’m going to go make sure my wife doesn’t embarrass herself with James St. Paul. Or worse, leave me for him.I’ll see you all later.” He disappears into the crowd as Alec presses a kiss to my cheek and Parker scans the crowd.

“I want a small wedding. No cameras. In our backyard. Next month,” I tell Alec, his gray eyes filled with love.

“Sounds perfect,” he says.

“Let me know what I need to build for it,” Parker adds.

Parker goes rigid. Following his line of sight, I see the most beautiful raven-haired woman in a cream-colored dress.

“Is that her?” I ask him and he simply nods.“Go talk to her!”

Throwing back his champagne, he stomps over, the woman’s gaze zeroing in on him immediately.

“Well, well, well. This should be fun,” Alec says,as we watch the stilted exchange.

Laughing softly, I hold my hand out. His lips are warm as he presses a kiss right above the new ring adorning my finger and we walk in the mansion that started it all, ready for every day of the rest of our lives.
