His eye twitches.

“Don’t ever do that again,” he smirks, touching his nose to mine. “Or I’ll have to punish you.”

“Punish me?” I laugh. “Like hell that’s happening.”

He laughs, such a rich sound, one that vibrates through me and instantly puts me on edge.

He knows. I mean, he has to know? Right?

My eyes dart down to the spilt coffee soaking into the rug.

Along with the poison that was meant for him.

His knee slides between my legs, pressing against my heat, sending shockwaves through my body, rattling me to my very core.

“I can feel how wet you are for me, Foxy. Fuck, you’re practically soaking my leg.”

“No, I’m fucking not!” I snap, my cheeks heating.

“Yes, you are,” he grins darkly. “I bet you regret wearing this skirt now, don’t you? I told you what would happen if you kept disobeying me.” His knee presses harder, causing my head to drop back against the door with a thump. His fingers clench around my neck as he pushes himself away from me.

“Now be a good little slut…and bend over my fucking desk.”

My breath hitches in my throat.

Roman Nikolai Antonov was supposed to die today.

…So why do I find myself walking over to his desk?

Chapter Seventeen

ROMAN

I’ve never been one for restraint.

I’m very proud of the opulence and indulgence in the life I lead. It’s far from a secret, and practically public knowledge. And given that lifestyle, and the fact that I’m the one and only Roman Antonov, the favorite son of New York City, and the same man that Jaxon Pace refers to as the Russian Rooster, I don’t have to bother with stupid bullshit like restraint.

I’m a monster, and my only drive in life is to acquire, consume and destroy anything and anyone in my path.

So, where Abigail Wayne is concerned, my exercise in restraint should probably qualify me for sainthood.

I lusted after her for years, but never acted on it.

I lusted after her at the club, but never acted on it.

I’ve lusted after her since I hired her, but never acted on it.

…Until today.

Today the invisible line that I told myself I shouldn’t cross has been obliterated, the moment she smacked me.

My cheek stings as I watch her shaking legs obey my command and walk over to my desk. Her dark brown eyes find mine, and I watch with bated breath as she slowly bends over.

The little fox has wandered into my den…and now I’m going to devour her.

My heart is hammering in my chest, and my cock is throbbing in my pants as I take a step towards her.

But just as I do, the elevator dings behind me. Immediately, my head whips seeing Jenny and Alison come into view as the doors slide open.
