I blink at her.
“Lizzie, he’s my boss…” I chuckle, rolling my eyes.
“You can fuck your boss, you know. I mean, I did,” she shrugs, then grimaces. “Yeah, on second thought, it’s probably best you don’t actually.”
From the occasional chats we’ve shared at the bar, I know Lizzie’s history of partners isn’t exactly a list of people you’d take home to meet the family.
Luckily, I’ve not needed to kill any of them…yet.
As I understand, she’s had a few not so nice guys, and if the bar wasn’t inconveniently good at getting busy, and cutting our conversations short each time, they’d probably be dead.
I smirk at her over the rim of the glass.
There’s always been something about Lizzie that makes me want to tell her all my secrets.
Well, all but one of them.
She’s charismatic, and full of life, not a demon in sight.
I could never tell her that I live to kill people. I wouldn’t want her to be terrified by my demons, or worse…infected by them.
Plus, I’m pretty sure she took an oath to save people, not end them.
Before I can dwell on it any longer, Lizzie continues.
“Anyway,” she laughs. “Are you excited for the festivities tonight?!”
“What are the festivities exactly?”
“It’s switch night.”
“Switch night?”
“Yeah… The ladies pick their man for the night,” she wags her brows.
Oh.
Switch night sounds like the perfect night for Oleg, almost too perfect.
It’s interesting that this place would have a night where they openly give women the power, considering how much it caters to their misogynistic members most of the time.
“So, we could pick anyone?” I ask, leaning forward on my elbows. “That’s how that works right?”
Smirking, she twitches her nose, “Yep! The men can’t approach us at all, they can’t even talk to us. They can only sit and wait till a woman approaches them. And only then can they shoot their shot.”
She jumps up and down, her hair bouncing with her, “Oh! And the VIP isn’t off limits. They open it to everyone. So, we can go up there,” she grins. “And maybe you can have Rooooman.”
“No,” I state.
This is sounding better and better.
This might be the perfect opportunity to approach Oleg tonight and finish him once and for all. I twist the ring round my finger, relief filling me.
“Fiiiineeee, got your eye on anyone?” Lizzie asks.
“Umm, maybe.”
Lizzie smirks, her eyes flashing up to Roman before darting back to me, a grin splitting her face.
