Honor laughed and said, “I’m glad she’s gone and it’s just us now.”
“Babe, I cannot go again,” Silver told her with a little laugh.
“No, I just meant that I want to be alone with you now,” Honor explained before she lifted her head up and looked at Silver.
Her girlfriend was so beautiful when she was sated and tired, with her eyes heavy-lidded and ready for sleep.
“Are you sure you want to just move in?” Honor asked her.
“You have to give them notice if you’re leaving. And if I move in, we can just sign together, split the rent there, and I can keep this place,” Silver replied as she ran a hand through Honor’s hair. “I’m there most nights anyway. I can just leave the bed and some stuff here in case we want to bring someone over. We can bring them here instead of our place.”
“Our place?” Honor smiled at her.
“Yeah, our place. And we can find another place, if you want, but we’re both really busy with work right now, and I like your apartment. I thought we could just live there for a year and decide on what to do next.”
“You’re planning that far ahead?”
“With you? Hell, yes.” Silver squeezed Honor’s middle. “Babe, I’m never letting you go. You’re the one for me. I’m no idiot.”
“You’re the one for me, too. And nothing changes, right? Same rules and everything?”
“We can always talk about changing things whenever you want, but I like how they are now, if you do.”
“I do. I just wanted to make sure. We’d be living together.”
“Well, we can coordinate if there are nights where we both want to take someone somewhere. It hasn’t really happened yet, but I guess it could, huh?”
“Yeah.”
“Wait. Is there someone you want to take home there, Honor Wrenley?” Silver teased and tickled Honor’s side.
“There’s this barista who’s flirted with me a few times at the café by work.”
“Oh, really?”
“I’ve talked to her a little bit but haven’t tried to see if there’s any interest in some no-strings fun.”
“Well, don’t let me stop you from having that no-strings fun.” She kissed Honor. “I just want you to have the strings fun with me.”
“Always, baby,” Honor replied, lowered her head, and kissed Silver’s nipple, which was hard from the cold in the room.
Silver reached for the blanket that was around their waist and pulled it up a little higher.
“Good night, love,” she said softly.
“Night.” Honor squeezed Silver’s middle. “I love you.”
“God, me too,” Silver said as she stared up at the ceiling.
She still couldn’t believe that she’d found this woman and just how happy Honor made her.
EPILOGUE
“Hey, babe,” Silver greeted when Honor walked into her office. “Was I expecting you?”
“No, I came here to surprise you.”
“Well, it’s a nice surprise.” Silver went to stand.
