“I’m not your babe. I don’t even know you.”

“You just ate me out. I think you know me a little bit.”

“This isn’t a joke, Silver.” Honor found her shirt and bra. “That was… That was my first time with a woman.”

“I know,” Silver said softly.

“God, I can’t believe I did that. I’m so careful… I’ve always been so careful…”

“Maybe that’s why you clearly wanted what we just did.”

“I meant with partners, Silver. I’ve always been safe.”

“Oh. Well, then, you were safe tonight, too.” Silver sat there naked as she watched Honor get dressed. “I get tested between partners. I always have. I’m clean, if that’s what you’re worried about. And I figured you’d be, too. You seem like the kind of woman who would get tested.”

“I do.” Honor sighed in relief. “After every partner?”

“Yup. I also usually use condoms when I strap, just to be extra safe, and I’ve been known to use a dental dam with some partners if things get out of hand before I remember to ask them if they’re clean, too.”

“You didn’t do that tonight,” Honor pointed out.

“No, I didn’t,” Silver said. “But, Honor, I wanted you.” She stood up and walked over to Honor, who already had her clothes back on. Honor’s jeans were still undone while she slipped back into her shoes. “If you don’t want me to call you ‘babe,’ I won’t, but I want you again.” She moved back into Honor’s space.

“I don’t do this. I’m not this person.”

“Maybe you are this person, and you’ve finally realized it.” Silver placed her hand on Honor’s stomach and slowly moved it downward until it was inside her still-drenched panties.

“Silver, don’t,” she said but leaned back against the desk and made no attempt to remove Silver’s hand.

“You don’t want this?” Silver asked as Honor closed her eyes, and her hips canted forward a little. “Feels like maybe you do,” she teased and nipped at Honor’s earlobe. “But I’m not here to convince you again.” Silver removed her hand. “I’ve been chasing you for the past three nights, Honor.” She licked her finger and placed it into Honor’s mouth. Then, she watched as Honor sucked on it and added, “I go for what I want, but I won’t chase it. If you want this, we can do it again anytime. If you don’t–” She pulled her finger out of Honor’s mouth. “Well, that will suck because that was the best sex I’ve had in a long time.”

“You’re just saying that,” Honor suggested and went to button up her jeans.

“No, I’m not. I don’t just say things I don’t mean. I’m not that person. I’m the kind of person who makes art shows about sex and fucks women in my office because I want to. I wanted you tonight. And I want you again. I’ll take you over this desk right now if you let me. I’ll let you eat me out all night long back at my place if you want that. You just have to tell me. And until you’re ready to do that, we can say goodnight.” She backed away from Honor. “I’ll be here for the next eight nights because of the show. If you want me again, all you have to do is ask.” Silver leaned in and kissed Honor on the lips. “I will worship your body if you let me, Honor.”

“Fuck,” Honor whispered.

“I’m going to get dressed and get back out there. I’ll see you around?”

“I–” Honor looked at the door behind Silver.

Silver moved out of her way and watched Honor walk out of the office and, probably, out of the warehouse entirely. She dressed and was grateful she had brought an extra pair of panties. She threw those on, put her laptop and water bottle back on the desk, and opened the door. She fanned the room with it a little bit, considering there were no windows to help her out, and then left the room, closing and locking the door behind her before she walked the floor and watched Devin go down on Brandi. It was strange to Silver, though. Normally, she could easily get turned on by watching these two, but she wasn’t turned on right now. It wasn’t because she’d just had some of the best orgasms of her life, either.

When she’d kissed Honor in that slow way that people not fucking but making love usually did, she felt something come over her, and it wasn’t the throbbing in her clit. It was something else entirely, and that was why she’d kissed Honor sweetly on the lips before they’d said goodnight. Silver only hoped that it was goodnight and not goodbye.

CHAPTER 9

“You look like death warmed over,” Kathleen pointed out as she walked into the conference room where Honor was waiting alone.

“Where does that expression even come from?” she asked.

“No idea. But seriously, what’s up? Did you have a bad weekend or something?” Kathleen sat down next to Honor, who was at the head of the long table they’d gotten from a used furniture place three years ago.

“No,” she replied, leaving out the fact that she’d spent three nights at an art exhibit that featured sex and only sex, and that she’d been fucked by a woman for the first time the previous night, had run out on that woman yet again, and hadn’t slept at all after she’d gotten home. “Just didn’t sleep well last night.”

“Your eyes are a little bloodshot, Honor. Have you been crying?” Kathleen asked softly before she looked at the open door to make sure no one else was coming in yet. “Did you go on a bad date or something?”

“What? No,” Honor answered.
