“Honor and Temperance? Your parents made some choices, huh?”
Honor laughed and said, “I guess so.”
“I have a brother and a sister,” Silver shared as well. “Both older. You want to really laugh about something?”
“That’s a weird question, but sure.”
“My brother is thirty-nine. My hippie parents turned Catholic at some point before I was born and raised my siblings that way. He became a priest.”
“No way.” Honor laughed. “Your brother is a priest?”
“Yes. So, you can probably imagine why I didn’t invite my family to this particular show.”
“Well, you did have sex on stage last night, so I think they’re probably good missing it.”
Silver laughed this time and said, “I’m going to again tomorrow.”
“Again, what?”
“We lost one of our performers for tomorrow night. She had a family emergency. She told me tonight before she left that she’d miss tomorrow, so I asked her partner if she wanted to skip it or if she wanted me to fill in.”
“Let me guess: she wanted you to fill in?”
“She did, yes,” Silver replied.
“I thought you said you get tested between every partner.”
“I do. Last night, I used a clean dildo. That was all we did. Tomorrow, it’s a toy scene, too. Different dildo, but same thing – clean toy. That’s the scene. Limits the possibility of any kind of infection, and all performers are tested regularly as well. I run a tight ship, Honor. We can get some results back the same day because of the clinic we work with, but most of our people are either with the same performers they’re working with, or they’ve all been tested. We don’t ask them to abstain from sex outside of the show, obviously, but the chances of any kind of issue are pretty minimal. I went to the clinic this morning, to be safe, and I’ll go the day after tomorrow, too.”
“You go that often?”
“I think that’s your way of asking how many people I sleep with. Am I right?”
“No, I just…” Honor shook her head.
“You’re thinking that you need to get tested now, aren’t you?”
“No, Silver. I believed you when you told me you were tested and that you were safe.”
“I sleep with women whenever I want, but not every night and not even every week, Honor. If there’s someone I’m interested in while I’m out, and she’s into it, we do it. But a lot of the time, I’m working or tired and busy with something else. It’s not like I’m fucking a new woman every day. And even if I were, that’s my deal, right?”
“Yes, you can do whatever you want,” Honor said.
“But it bugs you?”
“Not in the way you’re thinking.”
“Then, how does it bug you?”
“Because I liked what we did, and I don’t want to.”
“And you only want me to do that with you?”
“Not exactly.”
“Explain for me, please.”
“I don’t know how to.”
