“She looked concerned, so I nodded down. I was naked on the couch at the time, so I basically gave her the choice: kiss my lips or kiss my clit. I wanted to see what she’d do.”

“And?”

“She kissed my clit and did as I asked, making me come, but then, she didn’t let me come down. The other night in here, she licked me until I was all the way down. This morning, though, she heard me indicate that I was coming and basically got up. Then, she didn’t commit to coming to the show tonight or letting me stay over at her place.”

“So, she chose to get you off and not kiss you, and you’re disappointed in that?”

“A little, yeah,” Silver revealed. “I know; that’s not like me. But when she was leaving, it was like she was trying to run again; like she might be freaking out. I suggested I just come to her place tonight to sleep, and she looked like I’d just asked to meet her parents.”

“You want to date her, don’t you?”

“I don’t know. Maybe,” Silver replied with a shrug. “I’ve always been a little jealous of you and Brandi; you know that. She found you, and you brought out exactly who she was supposed to be all along, you know? She’s so comfortable in her own skin now, and you’ve played a huge part in that: you let her be who she is.”

“I love who she is,” Devin said. “And I love who you are, too; just differently. Brandi is the love of my life, though, and I’m no dummy – I plan to marry her one day, in our own way. Maybe not a big ceremony with a ton of people, but just a few close friends or something. Then, we’ll go back to our place and have a night of full-on debauchery before Brandi and I go on our honeymoon, just the two of us. I know how lucky I was to find her.”

“But how possible is it for me to find someone like that as well?” Silver asked. “Someone who understands that I love them and want to come home to them, but that I also might want to sleep with other people and maybe have them join or watch?”

“I think it’s hard, yeah. I had to slowly reveal to Brandi the things I was interested in because I knew how I felt about her, and I worried I’d lose her.”

“Had she not been into it, would you still be with her? You’d still love her.”

“I would, yeah. But I also don’t know.” Devin leaned back against the futon. “I feel like the thing that makes us so good together is that we understand one another in all ways. Well, as much as one person can understand the other. Had she not understood this part of me, we wouldn’t have that. So, I don’t know. I love her, but sex is an important thing to me, and I’d want to have what I have with her now.”

“I get it,” Silver replied. “I don’t know that I could give up that part of me for someone.”

“Is Honor asking you to?”

“No. Like I said, she seems to like it, but she doesn’t want to like it.”

“It’s new. Give her some time, okay? Don’t pressure her for anything more than she wants to give and see how it goes.” Devin patted Silver’s thigh. “Now, I have to go get ready to have sex in public with my amazing girlfriend. You going to hang out in here?”

“Probably,” Silver said. “I know she’s not coming, so I’ll just walk around like I always do.”

“Text her after the show, Silver. Tell her you’d like to see her whenever.”

“Yeah, maybe,” she said.

Devin left her office, and Silver sat there working on her laptop as the music started up minutes later. Then, the break came and went, and the second part of the show started. Silver wanted to text Honor, but she also wanted to give the woman some space if she needed it, so she resisted reaching out. She ended up not doing her walk-through after all, like she should have done, and when the show was over, she packed up her stuff and headed home, deciding to leave Honor alone for the night.

“Hey, stud,” Stephanie said.

“Hey. What are you doing out here?” Silver asked, walking over to Steph, who was using her vape and leaning back against the back wall of the warehouse.

“You always park over here. I thought maybe tonight you might be more in the mood.”

“Oh,” Silver let out, leaning against her car now. “You want to…”

“Yes,” Stephanie replied and walked toward her. She then slid her vape into Silver’s bag, adding, “Here.”

“Here?” Silver looked around and saw a few people walking down the sidewalk, none of them heading their way.

“Put your bag down and fuck me, Silver. I need it.”

“Jesus,” Silver said and pulled her messenger bag over her shoulder, setting it on the hood of the car.

“You’re not wearing one, are you?” Stephanie asked, pulling on Silver’s hand until they were against a wall.

“No, I was going home.”
