“Surely, you’ve been with lots of girls though. You would never want….” I trail off, not wanting to sound like a complete moron. I try to look down at my lap again, but he holds my face upright so I can gaze into his eyes.

He shrugs.

“There’s been no one that mattered. You’re the kind of girl that could really matter.”

The simple statement catches me off guard.

I gaze into his dark brown eyes, searching for an ounce of deception or untruth. I see nothing there but sincerity.

I lick my lips out of nervousness. I watch his eyes follow the movement.

Do I want this older, experienced man to kiss me? Not a gentle peck, but a real full-blown kiss with passion? The answer is- hell yes!

In that single moment for the first time in my life, I feel the power of a woman wanted by a man. This attractive man wants me, and I’m in control of the next move. I can see in his eyes that he won’t kiss me until I give him the signal to move forward.

I slowly lean forward. I see the corner of his mouth quirk up. He leans down and then I feel his lips touch mine.

Chapter Eleven

Kisses are usually just something I have to get through to get to the really good stuff. -Sawyer

Sawyer

I want to smile at her innocence as her lips tentatively respond to mine. She’s so impossibly sweet. She doesn’t pretend to be anyone but who she is, and I love it. It isn’t long before passion and instinct take over for both of us.

Her lips are soft and smooth. Her tongue tangles with mine, and she moans lightly. My cock hardens instantly and I emit a small groan. God, she’s intoxicating. The smell of her, her softness…everything.

I feel her small hand moving shyly on my jean clad thigh. Her hand moves steadily towards dangerous territory. I try to control myself because I’m pretty sure she doesn’t even know what she’s doing.

I remove my lips from hers and she moans at the loss of connection. She pulls back slowly and touches her lips. Her cheeks are flushed and she’s breathing heavily. Her eyes stay closed for a moment. Is this how she will look in bed when I have her? Will she be this soft, this captivating? I know I should stay away from her, and try not to taint her innocence. Staying away seems impossible right now.

I grab her hand and gently kiss her fingertips. Her eyes finally open and she stares at me in confusion. “What was that?”

I can’t help but chuckle. I stroke her cheek and push a strand of her long red hair from her face. “That’s something I’ve been wanting to do since the first day I saw you. I couldn’t get you out of my head after I helped you with your books.”

“Really…I mean, really?” Her voice is higher than usual. The way she bites down on her lip makes me want to kiss her again and never stop.

I lean in, about to give into the instinct. Her soft lips are so close and inviting.

“Really,” I whisper. I feel just the barest touch of her lips before a loud voice startles us both. We jump apart so fast I almost fall off of the arm of the chair.

“Damn, what the hell did I get into last night? Where’s everyone else?” Fortunately, it’s just Dax. His curly hair is wild this morning. He rubs his hand through it, and scratches his stomach at the same time. He yawns and looks at the two of us in confusion. Then he gives us both a big grin.

“Do y’all need me to leave y’all alone or somethin’? Or I could always stay and teach Sawyer some moves?” He waggles his eyebrows up and down and Ronnie lets out an embarrassed laugh.

“Nah, it’s all right Dax. I’ll go start on breakfast for everyone.” Ronnie throws her blanket off and gives me a small nod. She walks around Dax. He seems extremely pleased with himself.

I glare at him after she walks out. “Brother, you have the world’s worst sense of timing.”

“Hah, or the best in Ronnie’s case. She’s innocent, bud, you know that right?” His grin is still there, but he sounds deadly serious. Dax doesn’t miss much, even though he puts on a good act like he does.

“I know.” I hold my hands up. “I’m not aimin’ to mess that up.” My stomach churns. It’s the truth, in a way. I really like this girl, but I’ll never be able to deny that I want her too. Maybe I should stay away. After all, what can I possibly offer her?

“Are you ready to get started?” Dax asks. My stomach dips. I almost forgot why I was here in the first place. I need to make sure nothing distracts me from my end goal. That includes a beautiful girl with a sweet soul.

“As ready as I’ll ever be. Let’s get started, man.”
