“Where was the third shipment hit?”
“It made it to land, and the courier was ambushed on the way to the next destination.”
I turn to Dante and stare at him. “It wasn’t hit at the docks?” He shakes his head. “And the courier? Who was it?”
“Mario was taking it across into Virginia.”
I continue heading toward the front door and stop again. “Fucking Virginia?”
“Yeah.”
Mario has been working for the family since my father. I don’t believe he’d be in on it. “Where’s Mario now?”
“Dead.”
“Fuck.” I push my fingers through my hair, frustrated that one of my best couriers has been taken out. “Where’s his body?”
“Down at the dock.”
I stop walking, thinking about what I need to do. “Increase security down at the docks. The couriers go out in threes. Where’s the van Mario was driving?”
“Gone.”
“Wait, they took the van and dumped Mario?”
“Yeah,” Dante confirms.
I turn and head back into the office, then boot the computer up before my ass hits the chair. “Whoever took the van is a fucking idiot. They’ve all got GPS.” Dante stands beside me and watches as I start the program to check the van’s GPS. “Here.”
Dante leans over me to look at the dot. “That’s where Mario’s body was found.”
“How was he found?”
“He thought he was being followed by the feds, and called it in to the warehouse. The boys heard the shot as Mario was giving them details. The boys called me, and I had someone go to check. They found Mario’s body in the ditch and the van was gone.”
“Whoever took the van knew where to look for the GPS.” Fucking Adrian. I sit back and cross my arms in front of my chest as I think about my next play. Adrian is causing too many problems in my life and he needs to be found, quickly. “Have you set up a meeting with the president of the Fallen?”
“I’ve reached out and they’re taking it to the table. I’ll know soon.”
I recline further as I stare at the dot on the screen. “Fucker,” I grumble. “Make arrangements for Mario’s wife.”
Dante steps back and nods. “It’s got to be Adrian.”
“He’s a pain in my fucking ass. A fucking boil that won’t pop. Get me that sit-down with the Fallen president.”
Dante is out of my office, leaving me to think about how I’m going to handle my cancerous nephew. He needs to be put down. He’s using everything I’ve taught him to evade me. I know of someone who can help, though.
I pull out my phone and dial the number I have.
“Mr. Sacco.”
“I need a meeting.”
There’s a pause while his fingers type on the keyboard. “Three in the morning, abandoned warehouse corner of Treely and First.”
“Okay.” The moment I agree to the meeting time and place, he disconnects the call. Adrian is a rabid animal that needs to be put down before he continues to tear apart my world.
This isn’t the way I wanted it to happen, but he brought it upon himself by fucking with me, and my girl.
