“Be comfortable.”
“That’s not giving me a lot to work with.”
“Sir.” Dante appears and stands by the dining table.
Ruben looks up at Dante and nods once. He stands, walks over to me, and places a kiss to my forehead. “Please forgive me, Amorina, but I have work to do before our outing.”
I look to Dante, then Ruben. Judging by Dante’s rigid shoulders and high chin, I assume whatever is going on needs immediate attention. “That’s okay.”
Ruben picks up his coffee cup and walks away while speaking with Dante.
Maria walks into the dining room carrying two plates. She shakes her head when she sees Ruben’s left. “He works too hard.” She places one dish in front of me.
“He does.” I sigh as I look down at the plate of food.
Maria exits the dining room leaving me alone with Storm.
I sense someone by the door of the library, and when I look up, Ruben has his arms folded in front of his chest while leaning against the doorjamb. My breath hitches and my heart booms. Damn, he looks good. “What are you doing?” I lower the book I’m reading, slide in a bookmark, and close it.
“I’ve been standing here for the last few moments watching you read.”
“Weirdo,” I tease.
Ruben cocks a brow and tilts his head to the side. The butterflies in my stomach flap their wings. “You need to come downstairs.”
I sit straighter and draw my brows in. “Are we leaving now? I’m not ready.”
“No, we’re not leaving until about six.” I let out a relieved breath. “But, come.” He pushes off the door and holds his hand out to me.
Storm has been asleep in the sunrays shining through the window. He opens his eyes, and jumps to his feet when I move to stand. I extend my hand and Ruben links our fingers together. “Where are we going?”
“Trust me,” he says.
I shrug slowly. “Of course.”
“It wasn’t a question.” He snickers. When we get to the bottom of the grand staircase, he stops walking. “Close your eyes.”
“What?” Ruben’s brows raise and he intakes a sharp breath. “I’m closing them.” I close my eyes and wait. Cool material is wrapped around my head and tied at the back. “You’re blindfolding me?”
“Will you be quiet?”
“What’s happening?”
“I’m blindfolding you.”
“We’ve already established that.”
“Then be quiet.” He checks the blindfold. “Good.” He pulls his hand away, and suddenly, I’m standing completely on my own.
“Ruben,” I say in a shaky voice.
Ruben slides his hand under my hair to the base of my neck and grips me with some force. My breath hitches as my skin heats and goose bumps rise. Ruben’s mouth seals over mine as he dominates me with a scorching kiss. “I’ve got you,” he mutters against my mouth before deepening the kiss. An ache travels my body, landing between my legs as I give my trust to Ruben wholeheartedly. I lift my hands to rest them on his arms, and I feel the muscles tense beneath his clothes. I step closer toward his warmth. Torturous lust heats through my body as I melt into Ruben’s firm body. “If I don’t stop now I’ll take you upstairs and fuck you until you can’t walk.”
A delicious recall flashes in my mind. Yes, please. “That could be fun.”
I feel his hot breath gently kiss the sensitive skin beneath my ear. “You deserve a good fucking, don’t you, my good little girl?” I find myself selfishly nodding. “Come,” he says. Ruben places one hand to my lower back, while the other holds onto my elbow as he leads me through the house. Judging by the direction we’re walking, I have a feeling he’s taking me outside toward the patio. “Are you ready?”
“I think so,” I say with uncertainty.
