Page 89 of The Don
Dominic, Dante, Marco, and I are in my office as Dante fast-forwards the security feed until our girls are on the screen. “Here they are,” Dante says and fast-forwards slowly until we see Eliza stand and head to the bathroom.
“Have we got a recording from outside?” I search the screen, hoping to see something that we can work with.
“Hang on,” Dante says as he toggles between screens. “Here.” We get a view of out the front, then one out of the side too.
“Go back to the restaurant and let’s see what happens after Eliza heads to the bathroom,” I say as I watch the screen. Dante returns to the restaurant, and we watch Eliza stand and head into the bathroom while wiping at her face. My girl was clearly crying, which matches up to what Rose said happened. “Wait. There.” I point to another woman who stands and while she’s on her phone, follows Eliza into the bathroom. “Who is she?”
“I don’t know her,” Dominic says.
“She’s one of the dancers from Heaven,” Marco says.
I look to him and lift my brows. “What’s her name?”
“Her name is something like Bella, or Blake. It starts with B.” He snaps his fingers several times as he attempts to think of her name.
“What was she doing there and who was she talking to?” I ask.
“We’ll have employment records on her, I’ll pull them,” Marco says.
“Wait, let me look at her again.” Dominic leans toward the monitor. “Hang on, I know her.” I squint to get a better look, but I can’t place her. She’s a nameless leggy blonde. She could be anyone. “She’s one of the girls Adrian would often fuck at Heaven. Blair,” Dominic spits her name with distaste.
“She’s the one who’d fuck everyone Adrian told her to,” Marco says.
I stand taller with a rigid posture as I stare at her. “Dante,” I say.
“Sir.” He looks over his shoulder at me.
I grind my teeth as a million different thoughts circulate around in my brain. “First, let’s see if there’s anything on the cameras with them taking Eliza out.”
We review the footage again but find nothing more other than the blonde who fucked with the wrong person. “Nothing,” Dante says with frustration.
“I’ve got her address,” Dominic says as he brings up her employment records. Thankfully, she’s from one of the aboveboard businesses, which means she’s easily tracked.
“Get over to her house and if she’s there, bring her to my shed,” I instruct. Dante turns to give me a knowing look, Dominic lifts his brows. “Dominic, stay here.”
Dominic looks to Marco and says, “Go, and bring her here.”
A silent understanding passes between Dominic and Marco.
“Go over it again,” I tell Dante while we wait for Marco to return with the girl who gave her loyalty to the wrong person.
The girl is shackled to the wall. She’s crying and angry when I enter the shed. “Where’s Eliza?” I ask as I advance toward her.
She looks me up and down and shakes her head. “I don’t know.”
I lift my arm and backhand her. “Where did he take Eliza?”
With tears still clinging to her cheeks, she looks at me and spits, “Is that all you’ve got?”
I backhand her again. “Where did Adrian take Eliza?”
She sneers toward me and screws her mouth in disgust. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” She arches a brow. “Besides, do you think I’m going to tell you?”
“Blair, right?” I ask as I step backward and shove my hands in my pockets.
“Yeah, so?”
“Your loyalty to Adrian is going to get you killed.”
