Page 36 of Lane's Destiny

Desi not knowing what to expect moved and met him halfway.

Lane held out his arm on the surface of the water and said, “Float on your back.”

“What! How?”

“I’ll hold you.”

“You’re gonna be the death of me you know that right?” she said, meaning it in more ways than one as she crossed her arms over her chest.

He burst out laughing. “I got you. Don’t worry.”

“Why are we doing this again?” she asked, her teeth chattering as she slowly leaned back. Taking a deep breath she held it, hoping she didn’t sink like a cinder block.

“Relax, just put your arms at your sides and float.” He realised that was a big mistake as the pace of his breathing picked up. He should have thought this out more, never thinking that her breasts would be in his face.

That musky scent of her again filled the air, “What is that smell?” he murmured

Desi fought the urge to smell her arm pits but instead, said, “What smell... I don’t smell anything but chlorine.”

“It’s you... smells, I don’t know... the best way to describe it is like a musky scent...”

“Oh! That’s my body lotion!” Desi lifted her head, looked him in the eyes and noticed something she hadn’t seen in them before. Desire.

No! This can’t be happening!

Or was it just a trick of the lights?

“Whatever the hell it is it’s driving me crazy,” he growled, lifting her upright. He took hold of her chin with one hand while the other snaked around her waist and pulled her tight against him. He then whispered against her lips, “Why are you doing this to me?”

Desi not believing for a second what was happening, but not questioning either, laid her hands on his chest. Reveling in the hardness of it, she slipped them around his neck and whispered back, “Why are you doing thisto me?”

That did it. With a groan, Lane claimed her mouth with his. Softly at first then with a hunger he’d never felt in his life. Nipping her bottom lip, he soothed it with his tongue when she whimpered in delight, only to plunder the sweet taste of her a second later.

Her eyes closed as he backed her up against the wall of the pool. She didn’t care what he did to her, as long as he didn’t stop. When he took hold of her thigh as his lips blazed a trail down her neck to the swell of her breasts she was melting on the spot. He wrapped her leg around his waist and when he started grinding his arousal against her, there was no longer any doubt in her mind that he wasn’t attracted to her, or, well at least the scent of her perfume.

Feeling drunk from his mouth and what it was doing to her, Desi slowly opened her eyes when he grasped her butt with both hands. Like second nature, she wrapped her other leg around him when he hiked her even closer.

If it weren’t for the barrier of their clothes, he wouldn’t have a problem sliding his length inside her, she was that wet and it had nothing to do with being in a pool.

Lane stilled for a moment and searched her face. It was a fine time to ask her, but he had to. “Are you okay with this?”

Despite her shyness, she looked him straight in the eyes and Lane saw there was a fever burning within. She quickly nodded without saying a word.

“This is crazy? Why are we doing this again?”

They both sprang apart as they heard Kim’s voice just before the side gate opened and she walked into the yard.

“Hey, you two!” Ava said, as Mark closed the gate behind them. “We had the... same...idea...” She looked between Lane and Desi, “...we interrupted something didn’t we?”

Desi turned around and looked at her, “Nope you didn’t. I was planning on getting out, can you pass me my towel there, please?”

Ava looked to where she pointed to the chair and grabbed one up. “Here you go.”

Desi took it as Ava held it out to her then wrapped it around herself as she climbed the pool steps. Quickly she snagged her robe and draped it around her shoulders.

“You don’t have to leave on our account Desi,” Kim said, watching Lane the whole time, “We are going in the hot tub. Why don’t you join us?”

Desi risked a glance at Lane, only to see him staring at her. She shook her head. “Um, it’s fine. I’m going to go to bed, it’s been a long day.”
